Would love:

Scrooged
Elf
Jingle All the Way
It's a Wonderful Life
Black Christmas (both)
Home Alone
Home Alone 2
Die Hard 2
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Krampus

I feel like there's a pretty decent chance we'll get Home Alone this year, maybe?

I'm expecting them today, lol.

BTW, Grinch is a decent movie, but there are so many others I'd rather see on the format.

There are a lot of re-releases on or around Oct 16th, for some classic Christmas blu-rays (Grinch, Frosty, Santa Claus is comin to Town and such). Doesn't look very promising for UHD releases this year (though there could be something pop up).

Home Alone has actually been in 4K on iTunes since last Christmas. If I recall correctly, I watched it and wasn’t overly impressed. Yes, many of the shots are sharper, but quite a few of the shots are still very soft and the sharpness of the 4K images makes the softness of other shots that much more noticeable. I ended up popping in the 1080p Blu-ray instead as I preferred it to the 4K version for that reason.

Another one that’s been 4K on iTunes since last Christmas is The Holiday. I don’t recall if I’ve watched that one in 4K yet.

Part of me would like to see Love Actually and It’s a Wonderful Life available in 4K HDR, although it would mean that I’d be tempted to re-buy them again and my wife probably wouldn’t be thrilled about that.

Do you all think the original Grinch (cartoon) version will get released in 4K?

Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, and A Christmas Story are all I require in 4K as far as Christmas movies go. Die Hard will tide me over until then.

Would LOVE the following on 4K:

-Elf
-The Polar Express
-Santa Clause 1 & 2 (don't need 3, it's by far the weakest)
-Jingle All the Way
-A Muppet's Christmas Carol

I guess we won’t be seeing any Christmas UHD releases this year... it just seems way too late to announce anything now. Bummer.

Yeah, just the standard 'HDR' sticker (slaps it on anything with HDR)

Well, this technically does have a colorized version which was included with the bluray release... though I can’t imagine watching that monstrosity in 4K HDR.

For nostalgic reasons, I prefer to watch the classic animated Christmas programs on DVD or even VHS (if applicable). It's just not the same seeing them in 4K. Everything is not suitable for 4K. Some people like the old fashioned look of their original 480i TV presentations, not in 4K. For instance: A Charlie Brown's Christmas. It's available in 4K and I didn't buy it because, I didn't want to see A Charlie Brown Christmas in 4K.
I would prefer to see it on VHS instead of DVD, for old time sake.
