You sure your uncle was talking to Coppola, or some random dude named Cappola?

Well, to be completely accurate, he did the first one for the money, too. Not that he didn't put effort into it, but he did turn it down more than once and only conceded to do it when it could be set up as a vehicle to fund American Zoetrope (with the intention that, subsequently, he would never have to do anything but his own choice of pictures again).

Yeah.

Warner released Matrix in May knowing full well it would sell decently on its own then proceeded to put out the entire trilogy five months later.

The Harris timing is the Willis timing.

Agreed (though I still eventually caved and bought the BDs).

Yeah, but The Godfather is Paramount.

The only thing "wrong" I see with the current BD is the compression struggles at times with some of the grain giving a bit of a subtle digitized grain look sometimes. It's not a major issue, but something that I hope is resolved with the UHD BD.

Hmm, I purchased The Godfather films on DVD and blu-ray around release and in both instances the price has dropped substantially. I’ll just buy the 4K version years down the road. Even though I like the films they are too serious to be among my favorite.

Of course this will be a trilogy set. Do you think Coppola would have it any other way? If only the “Epic” cut would get a physical release as well. The streaming copy from HBO a few years ago was full of digital artifacts and looked awful on large displays.

Maybe they can include the mono track in lossless this time?

I can't imagine with the way this movie was shot that a 4K will look much better than the restored BD's.

I'll skip thanks.

This would be excellent. It is sorely lacking on the BD.

I'm probably the only person in the world who didn't care for the Epic cut.
