Default If you had to choose, would you rather have a ring or make it into the HOF?

All sports considered, brought this up at work as well, results were somewhat inconclusive.

HOF usually means superstar money and a long career.
Ring can mean Darko Milicic.

I'll take the HOF

Hall of Fame without a doubt. Any scrub in the NBA can potentially get a ring. Sure, making it to the NBA to begin would be would be amazing but not nearly as being good enough as HoF quality player.

If I was a starter or sixth man (or a Kerr/Horry type) I'd take the ring. Nothing beats winning the big prize and being a main contributor.

Hands down a ring. It's something you can share with teammates for the rest of your life. For me, team shared awards are more rewarding than individual awards. Perhaps because I wasn't an elite player when I played.

It'd be interesting to know if Karl Malone, Dan Marino, Don Mattingly & Marcel Dionne would have preferred a ring to their "Hall" status.

It's a difficult decision, but it depends on the circumstance. Chauncey Billups may not be a HOFer but he led his team to the championship.

But in the case of these two, I'd take the HOF career.
Adam Morrison - 2 rings (never played?)
Karl Malone - one of the best ever without a ring

Winning a game's ultimate prize is every player's dream and goal. Therefore a RING for this question.

Only a handful are selected every year into the HOF each year. Not everyone can be considered as the greatest player to ever play for their respective sport. Yet, those who are into the HOF that haven't won a championship will haunt them basically for the rest of their lives. A championship ring these days is a once in a lifetime experience.

Hey at least now Rodgers can now be included in conversations with the likes of Eli and Peyton Manning. Great QB's that will be in the HOF and their 1 Super Bowl.

EDIT: Forgot to add Brett Favre with Eli and Peyton.

You wouldn't want to be someone like Byron Scott, Rasheed Wallace or Derek Fisher? I'd gladly take that.

Who says you are even those people if you have a ring?

Teams have been known to give the team doctor, and team lawyer, rings in the past. You might not even be an athlete.

*EDIT* The Saints held a raffle for a ring after their championship so some random schmoe has a ring. You could be that guy.
