USA NFL : Peyton Manning will be playing for ? (2012 NFL Season)

Which team, whether due to Trade or Free-Agency, do you think Peyton Manning (currently with Indianapolis Colts) will he be playing for in the 2012 NFL Season?

I personally think there are at least five teams he wouldn't be playing for, due to the QBs playing for those teams; New England Patriots (Tom Brady), Pittsburgh Steelers (Ben Roethlisberger), New York Giants (Eli Manning / Brother), Green Bay Packers (Aaron Rogers) and the New Orleans Saints (Drew Brees)....

...all of whom are SUPER BOWL WINNERS.

OR... do you think he may... RETIRE?!

This reminds me of the Niners difficulty in parting with Montana. Peyton is GREAT and I hope he spends his entire career with one club. There is no way the Colts can throw Luck into the fire next year. I'd let him mentor under Peyton for 2 years and a rejuvenated Peyton may lead them to a Super Bowl. Never has a player meant more to a franchise. I think he's the Greatest QB in NFL history because of the numbers he's had to put up in order to win games. The Colts "D" has always been sh*tty. Next to Bernie Kosar he's hands down my fave player of all-time.

Well Said. I don't see the Colts saying that they'll TRADE Peyton Manning, I see one of two scenarios...

1. Peyton STAYS a Colt, beyond everything that has transpired, Peyton stays and moves on from all the Media / Talk-Radio Hoopla and finishes as a Colt... or...

2. Peyton BECOMES a Free-Agent, and finds a team, he WANTS to play for, willing to spend the money on him, and willing to build a franchise that is missing just two or three (key positions other than QB), key positions that will move that team closer to a PLAYOFF Run / SUPER BOWL Appearence within 1-4 years.

The teams that I see come close to doing just that for Peyton Manning... are the DENVER BRONCOS... HOUSTON TEXANS... KANSAS CITY CHIEFS... MINNESOTA VIKINGS... and... the NEW YORK JETS

I don't think he will be traded. Peyton will likely be able to choose his team and I think he will choose a more talented team over a team that would pay him more as long as it's not an incredible amount of money. I would lean towards the Cardinals or Dolphins if I had to choose at this point. They both have pretty attractive overall rosters, not to mention a star receiver on each team. Not sure what the cap situation of these teams are, so obviously that would be a factor. Wouldn't be surprised if Reggie Wayne(33) doesn't return to Indy and joins Manning on the same team.

These are in order from most likely to least likely imo...

Tier 1
Dolphins
Cardinals
Redskins(Assuming they pay a significant amount more than other teams)

Tier 2
Seahawks
Broncos(cap?)
Chiefs
49ers
Jets(cap?)

Peyton is done guys plain and simple there is no way the NFL is going to clear the guy. Multiple neck surgeries, stem cell treatments from EU, not to mention the fact that 1 hit could paralyze him substantially faster then most.

They are saying his strength isn't returning he still cant throw right, the prognosis looks bad.

Sad to say it but his career is done, and what a career it was.

Perhaps but if he does return, I hope he finishes it with the Colts.

That's how I see it, also. He'd be a fool to jeopardize his health/life, just to play another couple of seasons. He needs to retire gracefully now and not drag-out his career like so many others have.

Edit: But IF he does go somewhere, I hope it's to Cleveland!

Peyton is the Colts and they would be stupid not to let him retire there with dignity

How about the Jaguars!

But, on a serious note. It's either he plays as a Colt, or retires on top. I just can't see the great Peyton Manning wearing different team colors.

Only five teams???? There are way more than five teams that arent even an option for him. It will only come down to about five teams or so for his services actually.

For some reason I feel like he will be playing for the Cardinals next year. I know they just invested a boatload of money in Kolb but he sucks and I think they figure it out how to acquire Manning and hook him up with Fitzgerald. Also dont think Manning will go to a cold weather team. Got Em!!

I'm with ya bruthu. I still have my 1980 Kardiac Kids T-shirt (doesn't fit ).

Remember the pick Sipe thru against the Raiders (at Municipal in the playoffs) when we were down 14-12 and Cockroft could have kicked a short FG to beat them 15-14.....Excuse me for a moment
[Show spoiler].

How about "The Drive" by that pigeon toed-bucktoothed-horseface Elway.

Let's not forget Ernest and the fumble or Belicheat running Bernie out on a rail in '92.

He won't be with the Colts. There's no way they tie up $40-$50 million in two players who play QB. It doesn't make sense. He will become a free agent and probably sign with the 49ers. I could see Houston as an option too. I'd like to see Manning VS the Colts.

There's really only four teams I could see realistically getting involved. He's obviously not going to be back in Indy. San Fransisco would be the best fit I think, but Miami, Arizona, and Washington would also make sense. It wouldn't at all surprise me to see him wind up playing for the Redskins though, because Dan Snyder loves to spend him some money.
