Default Ford Fiesta SYNCH problem

I am trying to use my iPod classic with it and I only get the ok to disconnect message but not anything else to actually do anything so I can't play anything.

Does it sound like I need to change the cable or would it be the USB port being the problem?

try the easiest thing, first. that would be a different cable.

the next best option is doing a sync master reset. you do it in the vehicle and it doesn't cost anything but a couple minutes of your time. i've had to do this before when mine stopped recognizing my phone (iphone 6+ at the time) and was doing the same thing yours is doing.

instructions on resetting sync

i now use the bluetooth option and only plug it into the usb to charge, it if needed.

also, you can try a sync update. you can download the update to a usb drive then plug that into the usb port in the vehicle and do the update. i've done that, as well. fairly straightforward.

thanks.

I don't have a different cable at the moment but will try that and the other steps soon.

EDIT: played around with it more and while it says ok to disconnect I was able to play the iPod through SYNCH.
