I heard samples and saw old school captures of the LD for years and finally got one of my own to replace my old VHS tape copy of the the theatrical cut. That mix is still great and historically important as the first Dolby EX release. And yes, it sounds better than the DVD or BD track easily. Only trouble is that the video has some kind of processing going on and isn't top tier but it is the superior and never again released theatrical cut.

I can STILL use the EX track during the podrace to demo what a home theater can do. And that's just old school 384kbps lossy DD!!!

The best parts of Doom are better than most of Skull, but the worst parts are certainly worse (at least to me). Regardless, I want them all on 4K; one of the few franchises in which I enjoy every installment. Also looking forward to number five, but they better get with it; Ford's not getting any younger. But I suppose if people can stand a geriatric Han Solo, Rambo or Terminator, Indy will be just fine.
I agree with you completely about Temple of Doom. I actually enjoy the 4th quite a bit. I got bothered by a lot of jungle scenes, but like the rest of it. So which is your number 1 Raiders or Last Crusade?

I would love to see a 4K release before the 5th one comes out, as long they're done properly.

My list would be:

1. Raiders
2. Last Crusade
3. Temple of Doom
4. Skulls

3 & 4 are so close though......

I feel the same way. Sure, I enjoyed some more than others and Crystal Skull had it's flaws but I still liked it.

I dunno -- maybe holding their powder to twin up with anticipation/promotion of Indy 5.

Temple of Doom is incredible, far superior to Last Crusade and Crystal Skull. The final half hour of Doom is absolutely barnstorming filmmaking.

Any time I'm flipping channels and Temple of Doom is on, doesn't matter what part of the film, I have to stop and watch for a while. Just too much fun, even though Spielberg said he had more fun boarding and planning the film than shooting it, which is understandable.

It's also like Empire, musically. It's just wall-to-wall with great themes. Really killer.

Apparently this is still happening. Same UHDclub is giving another date - mid-2020, saying - The conversion turns out to be more time consuming, so let's hope the final output is fantastic for the 4K quality.

They did let us down before, but at least now they shared some photos of the finished wooden box art of the upcoming release to prove this is going forward. How cool would that be to have Universal’s Back To The Future, Warner’s Lord Of The Rings and Paramount’s Indiana next year?! I mean Paramount gotta keep up!

It was a sad year for Paramount. I’m hoping this and the Godfathers happens in 2020.

The cover art isn’t bad but they’ve done better. Since this isn’t an American release I’ll assume this isn’t our final cover art.

As much as I love Indy I'd like even more for that ^ to happen, those movies are in such dire need of some TLC on home video. Heck, even if they just did them as remastered BDs only a la Beverly Hills Cop I'd still buy them.

I like the Star Treks, I would buy a set day 1 but they aren’t anywhere near the top of my wish list. The Indies are.
