I get so annoyed with people bringing their cellphone addiction into the theatre, I was afraid this movie would push me over the edge. I'll stay clear of this one.

edit: I voted a 1 because the premise alone warrants it. I don't have to see it.

You HAVE TO see it first.

So, what? I should vote 5 because I love Rose Byrne? Pretty soon, people will be voting, and like 10% of those people will have seen the movie. Is that what we want?

You don't have to see it, but you also don't have to rate something you haven't seen out of pure spite because, well, common sense.

I will say that I just re-watched the trailer and it shows a majority of the movie.

That said, I had only seen the trailer once back in August and had forgotten most of it, so it didn't bother me.

I only saw a trailer that one time I mentioned in the op, and I go to the theater frequently.

There were 2 people in front of me who were dying laughing at this flick, which in all honesty made me happy because it really nailed down that there really is something for everyone! I hated this movie so much, but these 2 who were out on a date it looked like, were enjoying the hell out of this flick

initially the beginning banter and jabs from Jexi are funny, but as the movie progresses, it gets dumber and dumber. Wanda Syke can and is generally funny, but her final line lands with a giant dud: really? ... really?? Michael Pena should fire his agent, he's trying to hard with such an inane script. Adam Devine and Alexandra Shipp are charming and do seem to have a chemistry, but the dialogue and those individual scenes outside of his interaction with Jexi seem like they were lifted and juxtaposed into an entirely different movie - the overall flow and tone of the movie drifts way off course here and there and just comes across as inept directing / script writing.

C'mon I don't understand how anyone who saw the trailer and thought "Oh, that's looks fun" wouldn't enjoy the actual movie. What did you think it was gonna be?!
I absolutely LOVED it and thought it was hilarious and hysterical at times. Is it stupid? Yes, but it's meant to be... it is also really, really funny!
If you enjoy the modern crude comedy, no reason you shouldn't enjoy this one. Solid 84 minutes and a definite top A-List choice!

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would go in expecting it to be different from the trailer.

Everything ends up with an average of 4 around here anyway. The poll is pointless. So yes, give it a 5 for Rose. Besides, how do you know that isn't happening anyway?

It sure as hell isn't happening with me. I have to see a movie before I vote. Sorry, that's the way it is.

And of COURSE most movies will end up with a high rating. You know why? Because most people go to see movies they have a good feeling about, movies they are likely to enjoy. Tomorrow I'm going to see Joker and possibly will catch Downton Abbey. And you know what? There's a very good chance I will like both. THAT'S WHY I'M GOING TO SEE THEM!!!

When the New York Times or the Washington Post or whoever decides to PAY ME to go see movies then I will see whatever I'm sent to see. Until then, however, I'm going to go see movies which appeal to me, for whatever reason. So, of course most of my votes will be pretty high. I'm already leaning toward liking it before I even see it. It's not a perfect plan. But it means that it will be highly unlikely that I'll go see something that I would give a 1 or 2.

That's why most movies have high averages.

Rose Byrne ALONE makes this a 3/5, at minimum.

The gimmick wears itself out a little by the halfway point of the film, and some jokes from the supporting cast (Peņa, Sykes) land with a resounding thud......but it makes little difference when Byrne is absolutely hilarious as the voice of Jexi. Cute chemistry between Devine and Shipp helps too, as does the overall message of the story.

Let's face it: Rose Byrne makes almost ANYTHING a 3/5 right off the bat.

Actually, I may check this out tomorrow. It all depends on how things work out.

Most of the time, yeah.

But that trailer they played before for Like a Boss with Tiffany Haddish? That thing made me want to

Hahahahahaha!!!!!!

It's not good, but at least it gave me chuckles from Byrne, Hayek, hell, even a tad from Haddish and Porter, which is something unlike Nobody's Fool....

Or you could say the polls are high because people that don't think they will like it, don't see it and don't vote, don't even enter the thread. It doesn't matter to the end result. Just because you are keen on a trailer or actress doesn't mean you are going to end up liking a movie. I hope I like every movie I see but I usually don't. I've seen over 70 movies this year so far but there are probably no more than 10 that I'll ever watch again. No need to shout Captain Obvious.
