Default Dead Can Dance SACD Box Set

I have an opportunity to pick this up for $80 and I'm seriously considering it.

I have all of the original CD's, but, I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this release.

Do any of our audiophiles here have this set and give me a review of it? I would greatly appreciate it...

I think you should go for it. DCD isn't my thing, but I understand why some love their music. I've only heard one of these, not the entire set but the sound is fantastic.

That is a great deal if those are the SACD's. Worst case scenario is that you sell the box for more than you paid.

I have it. There were only 1000 made with the velvet box. They sound fantastic and the packaging is great. I probably don't have an audiophile's perfect setup but DCD have a magical way of tickling the entire range of a set of speakers. Plus you get the bonus songs that were originally found on A Passage In Time (Birds & Spirit), both of which I find amazing and listen to often. Birds will definately give your speakers a workout.

$80 for it is a fantastic deal. I paid much more for it on pre-order.

If it wasn't so late and the wife wasn't sleeping, I'd go put one of these on now...

It's a very nice looking set and obviously a steal at that price, so go for it. I just watched Baraka last night and recognized The Host of Seraphim from The Mist and decided to check out more of their music. Listening to Serpent's Egg now...

Lol, I just realized that the same song was used in Vexille too, making it a total of 3 Blu-Rays I own that have that use that song, all with HD audio too I'm pretty sure.

Huh? What's that got to do with the audio configuration on the disc?

I've actually been completing my set of 9 lately.

I got two waiting to be shipped and then I'll be done. I had 4 of them on release day, but only just recently got around to ordering the rest. They're wonderful - not the biggest upgrade over the CDs, but very enjoyable.

They are definitely my most played SACDs, that's for sure.

I think I'm going to pass and just grab them individually right now....Into the Labyrinth and Serpent's Egg have been ordered from Ebay...I can't wait.

If they were 5.1, I would have jumped on them.

Toward The Within is a must have as well. The live and "evolved" versions of some of their songs are incredible.

I don't mind that these aren't 5.1 mixes.

Hi guys, can anyone sell me the OBI strips that came with the SACDs? I thought maybe there is someone who doesn't need these. Thanks!
