The only recent horror film that had extreme amounts of hype to let me down have been The Babadook and Raw.

Well, thereís always at least one massively overhyped movie distributed by A24 every year, so this could be the one.

Generally I'm not disappointed in any of the hyped horror films. Loved The Babadook, It Follows, You're Next, The Witch, etc... Hopefully Hereditary follows suit. You're Next is the weakest of that bunch but I still loved it and found it very entertaining.

I generally like them all too. My least favorite was It Comes at Night though.

Trying to avoid any real plot details, but I adore Toni Collette, she's brilliant. It's nice to see her finally snag another role that lets her run wild.

Yeah, considering they dropped that teaser/trailer a few months ago, I figured Slice would be coming out first.

Coming from someone who loved The Witch, Under The Skin, Green Room, etc.......

This trailer was kind of unintentionally goofy to me. I'd be open to seeing the final film but it looks like overdone in trying to be disturbing.

Definitely not watching this trailer.

Can't wait for people to see the movie and complain about their expectations!

Yeah, not watching it either. I would like to know if someone did in fact wet themselves watching it though as the A24 email, and corresponding tweet implied.

It depends how you approach the films. When people think horror they have very specific thoughts on what that movie should be. Babadook was essentially about mental illness and that is a very scary thing. Same with those other films, they all have scary elements.

As for It Follows you didn’t find the
[Show spoiler]guy on the roof just staring as the car pulls away
scary?

Am I the only one who isn't swayed by exaggerated reviews or taglines? Like, that shit never does anything for me. I'll like it as much as I would have liked it if I hadn't heard it.

I loved It Follows, but that was probably the lamest part of the movie IMO.
