It'll probably be WB's most profitable movie this year, so WB execs are definitely also feeling the mirth

I'd read the budget for Addams Family was 24 Million which seems insanely low for an animated film. But it does look cheap so I suppose it's possible. And if so it's going to be very profitable.

Absolutely expected but still a terrific start. I'm thinking it could be the rare foreign film to cross over. A Best Picture nomination is practically guaranteed. With the unanimous praise I could see it being one of the ones to beat for Best Picture come Oscar night. I'm glad because NEON has been struggling. Outside of documentaries with respectable grosses they haven't had a hit like I, Tonya.

Called it! $300 million here we come! Will become one of only five R-rated films to cross $300 million, unadjusted of course.

$300M is a lock for sure. Hell, it is likely to surpass BVS and Suicide Squad domestically.

Joker:

Quote:
#Joker tops the #boxoffice for a 2nd wknd in a row taking the #1 spot with $55M dropping a low 43%. That's the exact same decline as #WonderWoman which went on to have a long run. Total now an amazing $192.7M and on track to easily smash the $200M and $300M marks.
Quote:
#Joker is on fire in intl mkts with a sensational $123.7M this wknd dropping only 29%. Stellar new totals are $351.2M overseas and $543.9M at worldwide #boxoffice. This one might just reach the Billion Dollar mark, people!

P.T. Barnum wildly underestimated the natality rate of a certain type of individual, it seems.

Very curious to see if Parasite will break out in the expansion. I'm impressed by any foreign-language film that manages to gross more than 5 million in the US.

Huge wins for Joker, The Addams Family and Parasite.

I honestly don't see Maleficent 2 affecting the other films that much. Zombieland 2 is gonna probably do well.
