What about Steve Miner (H20) and Rick Rosenth (Resurrection) and the writers of those? What’s their reaction been

Steve Miner and his crew wanted H20 to be the end of the series. The editor of H20 said they consider it the ending and pretend Resurrection never happened, so I think Steve is fine with not having another sequel to H20.

I admit, I’m technically new to all things Halloween

I saw the original back when it was first on TV when I was a kid.

Then I only saw the Rob Zombie ones

I never saw the original Halloween 2 (where Strode is the sibling of Michael)

And last year I bought the original Halloween on Blu-ray in anticipation of this official sequel

All of the sequels are official. This new Halloween doesn’t erase them nor was it intended to. Green and McBride are fans of all the sequels and McBride said this new film isn’t supposed to replace the other ones; it’s just an alternate reality. He equated it with being similar to Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and how those movies don’t replace the Tim Burton Batman movies. Not the best comparison but that’s how he thinks of it.

So true,you can't just forget all the Halloween sequels as they exist and you have watched them,but for the purpose of the new 2018 movie,if you need a reference point when watching it,you have to take it as the only sequel to the original movie.
