Default The Ruins- surprisingly good!

I just came back from the movie The Ruins! I went into it thinking how bad it would suck but it was actually very good! One of the most graphic movies i have seen! the acting was very good! It was almost an exact duplicate of the book! some of the roles got switched around and the ending was better in the movie. when it hits Blu the PQ will be AMAZING! SQ too!

+1 to the OP. This movie was very good, don't let the trailers throw you off, it's worth seeing in the theaters. Very tense, creepy, and surprising movie, and considering that director is pretty much doing his first movie, it is really impressive.

Hmm, I was going to see this one yesterday but decided to see 21. This is going to be the next movie I see, and from the reviews it seems like my type of movie.

Definitely see this, it's worth it! It's too bad that this one is bombing at the box office, it really is a solid movie!

I used to go every Friday at noon to see 2 movies. Then I split with my gf that worked there and couldn't get in for free anymore

I work with my dad and we carpool to save money on gas. He Golfs on Tuesday so I take that time to go see movies that I normally wouldn't get a chance to see. My girlfriend would NEVER go see The Ruins.

Critics don't like anything though. Critics only like movies if it is something life changing. I go to movies to be entertained not have my life changed. If you base your viewings on what other people like than I am sorry for you.

Critics seem to have it out for horror flicks though, there have been plenty I have seen that are really good that are panned by pro critics. I like to check out some of the pro-am reviews on AICN or some of the average Joe's opinions on IMDB first.

I wouldn't go as far to say this is my favorite movie of 08, but I did like it. This isn't the type of movie you'd normally catch me watch..so of course I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all.
