So I'm in San Francisco this week and hit some BB stores. Gee, those New Release racks all look the same and the empty $16.99 slot is where PROFESSOR MARSTON AND THE WONDER WOMEN used to be.

Also, I don't know how I missed this earlier, but for THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US, the blu-ray is $19.99 while the UHD is $14.99 (and includes the BD). That is messed up!

Here are some pics from a Target tonight. Walked out of there with some groceries only. So disappointing!

Kingsman: Golden Circle is also $14.99 in 4K but $19.99 on blu-ray in that picture.

Someone found this at Wal-Mart in the States (it was posted in another thread). Nice if you don't care about special features.

Thanks but a lot of those titles wouldn't have interested me as I prefer 3D and SteelBooks.

Some of those titles like ARRIVAL is still $9.99 at Fry's Electronics and some titles like HIDDEN FIGURES have been on sale for less than $10.

Just came back from road trip to the US. Was able to pick up the Stranger Things Target limited edition blu-ray/dvd combo of season 1 in a retro VHS box. It was only $15. They had 2 left on the shelf.

Sadly, the stores I was in for movies have depleted stock. Use to pass by Watertown once a summer and would see huge movie sections at Walmart and Best Buy but now they are completely depleted.

There is a Ponderosa steakhouse not too far from there in Pulaski, NY.

LOL! My brother loves Pondergrossa. Ha ha!
I don't. Too much food.
But the Mrs likes Olive Garden so we stop there once in awhile to make her happy.

I just like getting stuff we don't have every time we pass by. Weed killer, Cherry Pop-tars, Chex Mix snacks and odd potato chip flavors like Lay's Chesapeake Bay Crab Spice chips.

Oh, and of course, Target exclusive blu-rays.

I like the Combos which are hard to find here. Also grits.

I hadn't been in a Ponderosa in years, but I used to go a lot as a kid to the Hamilton and Niagara Falls and Belleville locations. I dropped by the NY location last month.

The most expensive steak on the menu is $16.99

I was in Target in Hayward, CA today and they have these 80s movie T-shirts packaged in VHS box packaging (no movies inside) going for $9.99 each.

They also had some 80s blu-ray movies packaged in old VHS clamshell cases for $12.99 each.

Default Walmart US 80s Blu-ray Slipcovers

Yesterday I was in a Walmart in Salt Lake City, UT.

For those of you into slipcovers, they have these new 80s slipcovers which have VHS packaging images with the cassette sticking out.

They looked pretty neat and I picked up four favourites:

HARDBODIES $7.50
WHO'S HARRY CRUMB? $7.50
THE CROW $5.00
AIRPLANE! $9.99

I took pictures of the display which looked pretty cool.

In 20 years they will be selling "vintage" digital codes to redeem

Not a deal (sorry!), but an interesting observation. I'm in Akron, Ohio for work, and had a few hours to kill before I could check in to my hotel. I decided to drive around a hit up a couple of FYEs. I didn't find anything (not surprising, tbh), but I did notice that both locations had quite a few used Canadian releases from Alliance and eONE. I wonder where they all came from and how they got here.

Canadian dollar is pretty shit. No doubt the importing from Canada is super strong when US citizens get a 30-40% discount on everything.

Will, what're you doing in Akron?

I have been to quite a few FYEs while travelling in the US. They usually have plenty of stock -- especially the used stuff -- and I do end up picking up a few things cheap.

The problem with FYE is that every store I've been to is like a dog's breakfast and has little to no organization. You almost have to spend an entire day sifting through the titles.

Personally, I hit a lot of Target and Best Buy stores when in the US. Also Amazon.com and Fry's Electronics (but they are only on the West Coast).

In Akron for a conference. My problem is that my tastes/wishlist is pretty esoteric these days, so I knew going in I wouldn’t find much. But I had hours to kill, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
