Rogue One is the only film I haven't loved so far, but I still really enjoyed it. It's the only one I haven't bothered to see more than once, but I'm sure I'll rewatch it eventually. The first six episodes are basically all equally amazing, imo. Episode 7 is nearly as good as them. Haven't seen enough of the canon animated series to form a solid opinion. Also really enjoy the "Legends" Ewok movies too.

If you're not listing Empire Strikes Back as the best of the series, you are not seeing all of the best of what made Star Wars a great franchise. So many characters are introduced in this movie and I've never seen a fan base get so excited with a 10 second pan shot (Bossk for example). In this version, we get so many planets/worlds and excitement for our entertainment. First appearances of Yoda, Boba Fett (I know he was included in the Special Editions in the first Star Wars), Lando, AT&T Walkers. I was truly hooked from beginning to end. And I felt that was the first time I ever saw a movie that left you hanging with Fett taking Solo to Jabba and ending the movie shortly afterwards.

Rogue One is really up there as my number two. Great story and spectacular effects that make this a fan favorite.

I still can't stand the Ewoks to this day. I feel like it was a sell-out on Lucas' part to humor the toy industry.

It definitely a great film, but I don't worship it like the more rabid fans do.

The story was my biggest problem with Rogue One - it was 99% pointless. We didn't need a whole film based around the theft of the Death Star plans; the opening crawl of A New Hope was more than enough. I liked Vader having a castle on Mustafar, the dynamic between Jyn and her father, and a couple of lines from K2S0...but that's about it.

Lucas has explained that many times, saying he wasn't able to do a full planet of Wookies back then. So instead, he reversed the name and shrunk them in height. Later, he resurrected his original plans for Revenge of the Sith.

Or they simply disagree with you about what's 'all of the best of what made Star Wars a great franchise'.

I like the Original Trilogy (Original Theatrical versions) + Rogue One.
I don't mind The Force Awakens, it's good enough but not great.

I haven't seen the Prequel Trilogy since the time they first came out. They aren't re-watchable in the same way for me. I actually prefer The Phantom Menace over the other two, still has that Star Wars vibe.

None of these describe me. I love the original movies, love the new movies so far and enjoy the prequels but don't love or hate them.

I don't like Star Wars all that much. But TPM and TFA have a few cool moments.

They disney films aren't star wars for me. The prequels have their moments and Natalie Portman but still just gotta go with the original trilogy as the golden standard for star wars.

Guess we will need a new poll with the Rian Johnson trilogy soon.

I love both the original trilogy and prequel trilogy and I hate The Force Awakens. I have not seen Rogue One and will not see any other new Star Wars movie. My time is too valuable. I will just watch Episodes 1-6 over and over again, and I will watch the audio commentaries of those movies over and over again.

The original six movies had an underlying consistency - even the two movies Lucas did not direct - when you are talking about the elegance in which scenes are introduced and staged, allowing the music and sound effects to tell the story, the framing of scenes, position of the camera, extraordinary imagination, the otherworldly dialogue, the regal characters, the operatic feel, and the meshing of the fantastical with grounded reality. The Force Awakens is on a whole different category and feels nothing like Star Wars to me.

I like TOT, Rougue One and TFA. The only prequel I like is ROTS because Palpatine is badass in that.

Favorite is A New Hope. I was in elementary school when I saw it. The opening credits followed by the Empire chasing after the Rebels was mind blowing at the time.

Childhood was the originals, love 'em.

Grew up into young adulthood with the prequels, flawed, but love 'em.

Sequels felt like the films I'd wanted ever since I reached the end credits of ROTJ when I was seven, love 'em.

Priority wise, OT>ST>PT. While I love all, I feel the sequel trilogy is "my" Star Wars to answer the title of the thread. My love of SW will probably never be as big or satisfying as it was stepping out into the snow on a crisp afternoon after my first viewing of The Last Jedi. Before the dark times. Before everyone else saw it :P

I enjoy/like a lot all the Star Wars movies (have been a Star Wars-fan for close to 40 years) but I love the original trilogy (eps 4-6).
