The first two episodes aired in Canada last night.

The pilot was serviceable. There's a lot of set up which can feel a little plodding. We had three mini origin stories, the introduction of Crazy Jane, origin/introduction of the main villian and the first big action sequence. It's a lot to chew through and had some pacing issues.

The second episode was much better. The plot takes some strange and creative turns (wormhole donkey!). It had better control over it's plotting. Fantastic use of David Bowie's Lazarus. The tone especially in the latter half of the episode reminded me of the Marvel series Legion.

I was underwhelmed with Titans. Doom Patrol is off to an ok start. I suspect I'll end up enjoying this show a lot more.

I love it. This week's episode was probably the best of the series.

It's quickly becoming my favorite DC series ever.

I just want to know why Jane hasn't aged in 40 years, although I kinda want to know why they can change cloths, hair, eye color, tatoos, ect in the switch but Hammerhead still looks basically like Jane.

Jane/Kay is born in 1950. Canon.

If memory serves me well, Hammerhead has a tattoo (skull with angel wings) on her chest.

Ya I was just saying we saw her 40 years ago in the 70s and looks exactly the same.

Ya Hammerhead has a tattoo but otherwise not distinguished from Jane despite being a guy. So you would think given the range in which she is able to change when switching Hammerhead would look a fair bit different.

We don't know anything about it at the moment. Her powers are mysterious, as well as the dynamics. Maybe she time travels?

So about Negative Man's powers:

It seems like he's indestructible like David Dunn or Luke Cage, and has superhuman resistance to higher and extreme temperatures. Electricity also makes him suffer, but not die like anyone else.
I think his "deformed" aspect is not burning-out, but the effect of the radioactivity that he absorbed.
That would explain how he survived the rocket crash and why you can see - in the origin flashback - the flames barely "scorching" him.

The first two episodes were slightly uneven with a lot of plot and character set up that at times felt a tad cumbersome. This is pretty typical of any fantasy based series that has a lot of world building and high concept stuff to introduce in the early episodes.

The third wasn't perfect either but it did feel like a turning point in which the creative team really figured out the series pacing and story structure.

Every episode since then has been hugely impressive. Much better than the mediocre Titans. Doom Patrol might even be the high water mark for Greg Berlanti's hefty stable of DC related series. Wildly ambitious story telling.

It may just be voice work and the occasional flashback sequence but Brendan Fraser is doing some of the best work of his career on this show.

Diane Guerrero is a revelation. A true firecracker and force of nature. Watching Doom Patrol really shows how underused she was in Orange is the New Black.

I had to watch the Danny Patrol episode again now that DC Universe has 4K versions available. I think it's my favorite of the series. I'm sad that the season is almost over because I look forward to watching it every Friday night when I get home from work. Hopefully Swamp Thing is good too.

It's #4 in the Top 7 Netflix shows, this week. It's a huge success.

I heard they recently added 4K/HDR support to a handful of titles including Doom Patrol and Titans...I might sign up now for the free trial...anyone know if it supports Dolby Vision?

Pretty good and an improvement over the 1080p stream which was already top quality. I hope they add 5.1 surround sound next.

Oh Jesus... Episode 13 was 100% fantastic. This is just the best Superhero TV show in history. Terrific character development, genius screenplays and wonderful special effects.

Whoa,
[Show spoiler]the meta-ending with
Mr. Nobody is actually a bit creepy, I must say. I love it.

Just one question...
[Show spoiler]is it me or Flex, during the 1964 flashback, reveals that the Negative Spirit comes from another dimension?
