I haven't seen "Hulk" in years, and could easily go without it for the rest of my life. When it was all we had, I accepted it begrudgingly...but the 2008 film blows it completely out of the water. I liked Jennifer Connelly as Betty Ross, and she had good chemistry with Eric...but the story just sucked, with the psychology being too much of a focus. I also think the whole idea of Bruce's father being a psycho who killed his mother was nuts; whoever approved it for filming needed a CAT scan.

As a movie, "The Incredible Hulk" still works very well, and I'm glad they're bringing William Hurt back as General Ross. This would naturally beg the question though, of whether Liv Tyler would return or they'd recast again. Personally, I'd prefer the former, because it would be interesting to see her and Ruffalo play off each other. I still miss Edward Norton's version of Bruce, but that's mostly his own fault, for not keeping his ego in check.

As for the most recent version, I like Ruffalo's characterization of Bruce; he gives the guy a different kind of depth, with the same intensity Norton had. You get the impression with Ruffalo, that Bruce has really tired of his "curse", and would love it to disappear completely. I was extremely surprised though, by Whedon placing him in a romance with Natasha. At first it really bothered me, since Barton having a family seems to have come out of nowhere...but over time, I've come to understand the reasoning behind it. Widow was already a damaged character, and while Barton's both loyal and honorable, it takes a similar kind of experience to create that strong of a bond, emotionally speaking.

I happened to like them all. Norton is 1 of my top fav actors. Wish he could have stayed in the MCU. Ruffalo hasnt been a bad replacement though.

[quote=The Great Owl;10925945]Sorry, friends, but I'll always be a 1970s/1980s kid, so Bill Bixby cannot be replaced.

Yes along with Lou Ferrigno

We're talking Bruce Banner right? Bixby played Bruce's uncle's brother's 2nd cousin through marriage David Banner lol. Anyway, I went with Ruffalo. I also liked Bana over Norton.

I actually really liked Norton as Banner/Hulk, I would've loved to have seen him continue in the MCU. Ruffalo is doing a great job though.

I'll say Mark, because he can play the smart side of Banner really well compared to the other actors.

To be fair, The Incredible Hulk tv series was basically an updated The Fugitive despite Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrignoís best efforts and thatís from someone who grew up with it. All of the actors who have portrayed the characters have done a fine job with what they were given. So it is kind of hard to pick just one of them. Especially when Bill was omitted from the poll. Thatís like leaving Adam West out of a best Batman poll.

So glad someone finally said it. This is a Bruce Banner/Hulk poll, not a David Banner/Hulk poll.

It's the same character. Round of applause for like the lamest excuse ever.

But from the three in the poll, definitely Norton. Never saw the Bana one, but I don't like him much as an actor anyway, and while I like Ruffalo in other things, I can't take him seriously as Banner at all. Norton was great, as he usually is.
