Default Syfy's "Happy!"

Quote:
HAPPY! is based on New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt).
Premieres Wednesday, December 6.

How much I enjoy this will probably hinge on how much I can enjoy or tolerate the imaginary horse. Still, I'm going to give it a chance - Meloni alone warrants that.

That trailer alone sold me on this. The presence of Chris Meloni alone is worth it, but the batsh*t level stuff going on here in this video made me curious to watch it.

I'm looking forward to this. I always enjoy reading work from Grant Morrison, he puts crazy stuff in his comics. There is one thing that sucks though. Christopher Meloni was answering questions on twitter not too long ago and confirmed season 1 is only 8 episodes. Hope it does well enough for a longer season 2 (10-12 episodes).

My guess is he was still shooting Underground when this got a series order and they had to make season 1 short.

I thought the first episode was hilarious! Hopefully the interaction between Sax & Happy will get smoothed out, but Meloni kills in this. Literally & figuratively. Second episode tonight.

Three episodes in and still loving this. Definitely not a show for everyone but I find it a nice tonic to the holidays. In a pleasantly disturbing way.

Happy is my favorite thing on television at the moment. Love it. I highly recommend checking out the graphic novel it's based on as well.

I've been enjoying it so far. The vibe kind of reminders me a little of the Preacher TV show (although obviously the stories are quite different.)

Just finished watching this, it's the best show that no one is watching (or talking about)

Loved it beginning to end

[Show spoiler]But what the hell was it with those giant dicks dress in characters at the rave party?

Has there been any word of a Blu ray release for this?

Contemplating picking this up on VUDU with a coupon if no physical copy is released-

The more I think about it, the more I believe that if there will be a Blu-ray (and hopefully there will be, as this was a huge success for Syfy) they'll probably save it for Christmas due to the show being set during the holiday. That's the only reason I could think why Universal is taking so long (there's not even a hint of a DVD release yet), the studio usually doesn't take this long on getting TV shows on disc.

My guess is that they're waiting for Christmas to release this due to how Christmas focused the season is. Plus, I think they want a release closer to the new season.

Currently no announcement for Happy! on DVD or Blu-ray
This may seem odd but does anyone think they might release season 1 and 2 as one set?

That would be bizarre, Universal hasn't done anything like that at all. It's either single season releases or complete series sets. I had anticipated them announcing a release for Christmas (given that the season is set during the holiday), but with December pretty much here and nothing confirmed, the only thing I can think of at this point is that they're waiting until near season 2's release date to release the disc. The wait for a disc release has been ridiculous and nowhere near the norm for Universal.
