With as much focus on the cartoons for their guests it was this year, I wonder if it will be even worse next year. With no new films coming, and Topps' dumb rule to not bring in anyone with live action projects....ie, now one from The Mandalorian and such.

Now, the deal I made with myself, and only broke a handful of times, was I do not get on a plane until I pay off my student loan. Which is sometime this fall, I wager.

But as someone that just does cons to do graphs/ops, I found little else to do at Celebration, so unless they're getting Daisy, not much point in flying to one.

I can't wait! I had a blast in Chicago for Celebration this year and I am happy that we will not have to wait 2 years before the next one.

Last time Celebration was in Anaheim was in 2015 and that show was pretty good. For me, one of the highlights was the line of food trucks that were parked right outside the convention hall. It was a great alternative to the convention hall food.

If I learned anything this year, it's to NOT buy ticket until a month before the show. Only thing that gets me to get on a plane and buy one: Daisy Ridley.

As a resident of NorCal and someone who drives down to Disneyland as an AP frequently, I'm more than likely going.

For those who haven’t been to it in Anaheim, I recommend it. I’ve only been once, a few years back, but had such a blast. It was nice balancing a Disney family vacation with it. Most of the stars were very engaging and I was fortunate to meet both Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker at SDCC in the mid 2000’s.

If you do end up doing that, I recommend buying from their 3rd party vendor Lyte. Cheapest way you'll get a ticket considering they are already sold out for the 4 day weekend, Friday & Saturday as well.

This really is not all that surprising. Conventions across all spectrums have been getting cancelled. I think that some venues were hoping that the government-mandated quarantines surrounding the pandemic would have been lifted by now. Whether it's comic conventions, anime and manga, scifi and fantasy, Star Wars, fans should be too surprised that it was canceled.

When some venues were announcing that they were debating over "virtual" conventions, I knew it was dead in the water because fans don't want to pay for a "virtual convention". When a fan pays tickets to a convention, they are paying the experience, the interaction with other fans, the social experience. With virtual conventions, you lose out on that experience. It's a great way to network, which is what it's all about.

I also doubt that there will be any held for 2021, with the way the virus is starting to come around for a second wave.
