Default Roger Rabbit 4K UHD on Prime - Audio Problem

Just bought this in 4K on Amazon Prime and it looks great, but all dialogue is unusually quiet, while sound effects are blaringly loud anyone else noticed this?

I found a temporary workaround - if I switch my Apple TV to only output stereo then my amp gives it the Pro-Logic II treatment and the dialogue sounds balanced (but I’m losing the superior quality of Dolby Digital Plus)

Is the Blu-Ray like this? If not, could be ether Disney did another Atmouse remix (in a DD+ 5.1 folddown) or Amazon compressed and butchered the hell out of the audio (not likely, but it also depends on your equipment).

When your AppleTV is set to output in stereo, viewing a movie on the Prime app will sometimes switch to a totally different stereo track instead of downmixing the 5.1 stream. I assume with your ATV outputting stereo, Prime Video is utilizing what appears to be the original Stereo Surround 2.0 track with it. This could be why you're getting better sound and balance overall with PLII.

I know Who Framed Roger Rabbit is not released on 4K UHD yet, but this is why physical media is better.

It greatly depends on the rights holder and whatever master is used between disc and digital forms. But in this case, it sounds like Disney did a totally new audio mix (probably Atmouse, but downfolded to DD+ 5.1 for streaming) for the 4k master and might be the same when the eventual 4k disc ever hits.

I just bought the same from iTunes, watched via AppleTV and have the exact same issue.
