Fixing anime figure yellowing?

So I found this Nadesico figure I like, and the price is pretty cheap, but the front of the legs have really strong yellowing from the knees to the hips. Only in that area; the skin everywhere else (including the back of the legs) is a normal skin tone.

So I'm wondering if anyone has advice for removing, or at least significantly reducing, severe yellowing on a figure? A google search found people suggesting the use of hydrogen peroxide, but that was for action figures, so I'm not sure if that would work on a PVC anime figure. I've also seen people suggest Magic Eraser, but again, not on anime figures.

So has anyone tried any of these methods, or have any other methods they've tried? I'm looking for things people have actually done and have had success with, ideally.

I thought of that, but my artistic skills are pretty poor; me doing painting would most likely end badly. The color might not match, it probably wouldn't look smooth or match the rest of the figure, and there's a very solid chance I'd botch it (accidentally paint over the clothing adjacent to the discolored area, for example).

So an approach that allows me to address the discoloration without painting is pretty much a necessity.

The hydrogen peroxide unfortunately will fade/bleach everything .
It’s not as hard to prevent that with say a old toy as most can be dismantled to get just the parts you want to discolor .

I’ve used everything from the fuming to submersion method on old toys . The problem is even if say you used a paste to put it on only the discolored areas . The area it cleans is going to be a different color then the areas that were not discolored with stuff that is any color except white .

Painting or getting someone to paint it is probably going to be the best option with stuff like a Anime figure .

Repainting is the only way to go I believe. Chemical treatment could damage the surface of your figure.
