One theory I’ve read is that she never renounced her first wish. Her wish with max where he made her an apex predator got renounced when he was no longer the stone. So she still has her powers but no longer looks like cheetah.

Compared to everyone else. She was the only character where her wish had no physical impact on her. She only lost herself but compared to Wonder Woman or max. She never actually suffered any physical harm except gaining super powers. Her second wish did change her but not her initial wish.

I’ve read is that Patty Jenkins wanted her to lasso the lighting as a form of flying. Who knows if they will recon it where she can actually fly or will lassoing lighting be her method of flying.

Can Wonder Woman now fly in the air like Superman? It seemed as though she has to launch herself and pull herself in mid flight with her lasso to keep from falling. I know in the comics and cartoons WW can fly. I'm guessing she just learned she has the power of flight?

I don't think I've ever walked out of a movie theater being so confused and having so many questions. But, I will say that I loved the White House scene because it's the first time we have seen WW vulnerable and not at full strength, she get's her butt kicked. I also liked when she had to renounce her wish and let Steve go so she could become a super hero again and then she launches herself into flight. I thought those two scenes were great.

She was able to fly without lightning, she just uses her lasso to propel herself while in flight.

I was like "how did she just change?" At least in the WW tv show, Lynda Carter did her twirl and then it was followed by what appeared to be an explosion and she was suddenly WW.
Yeah how does Wonder Woman change in & out of her outfit? Been wondering for a long time. Hopefully in the third movie Warner Brothers will let us know. We got to see Lynda Carter change into her Wonder Woman outfit.

Yeah, the ongoing pandemic, New Years weekend, the fact that it's on HBO Max, etc. have nothing to do with it. It's all WOM.

Alita still sucks and will never get a sequel, btw.

That doesn't seem accurate according to this article:

“While there are things that most of [the other writers] contributed that are in the script, there wasn’t anybody who ended up making such a contribution that they were able to get a credit. A guy by the name of Jason Fuchs got the third position in the ‘Story By’ so it’s Zack Snyder, Allan Heinberg, and Jason Fuchs, but Allan Heinberg got the full screenplay credit. Even though after he wasn’t able to finish working—he had to go back to the TV series that he was working on—Geoff Johns and Patty did a tremendous amount of collaboration. But again based on the rules they weren’t allowed to get any credit, but they did a lot of writing that stuck. So that’s the long-winded version of the answer being that we had a basic arc of a story, but scene to scene it really came together when Patty got involved.”

Besides, I think the movie is what it is primarily because of Jenkins' direction (e.g. the incredible trench war sequence).

Exactly, I was under the impression that Patty and Geoff Johns were both heavily involved in the writing for the first film. So this statement going around that WW84 is only terrible because they wrote it makes no sense.

Same thing that Superman does when he wants to fly at night (when the yellow sun that gives him his powers doesn't shine).

Well, there's your answer. Air molecules absorb ions from lightning bolts which Wonder Woman's lasso can capture hours later.
