The Twitter OP is a joke account.

Also not the first time a joke scoop was taken seriously with WW3: https://twitter.com/NebsGoodTakes/st...18264860123136

Patty Jenkins sets the record straight.

Quote:
Jenkins took to addressing what she referred to as "backlash" about Wonder Woman 3 not happening. "The attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away," she said, later adding: "DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now."
Wow Umberto Gonzalez wrong again could have told you that.

They should've fired her after the steaming hot mess that was WW84. The fact that they were ready to move ahead with her after writing and directing that festering turd of a movie until the leadership changes honestly makes them look even worse.

One thing I'm digging is how more and more directors are calling out all those clickbait sites and so called "scoopers" on how full of **** they are most, if not all of the time.

Wow she went about this song and dance route to say she was fired, but she didn’t walk away from it lol. And Disney believes she’s the right fit for Star Wars

You can only judge how she is on Star Wars when she completes the project.
Jon Favroe made a great Iron Man and then a subpar Iron Man and then a great job in the Star Wars universe.

Exactly. One bad sequel doesn’t make you now the worst director in the world. Monster and the first Wonder Woman are still great films.

I’ve seen far worse films than Wonder Woman 1984.

It suffered from the same problem a lot of super hero films do in splitting between 2 villains. Of those villains, the one Wonder Woman fans would have been most interested in was the Cheetah, and we only got her fully transformed for the final battle, so that was its biggest mistake.

It was a bit too padded, and could have done with a bit of trimming.

The Diana / Steve plot made Diana a bit weaker than she was portrayed in other films. You would think she would have been more over him after 40 years.

But it did have some great visuals and Gal Gadot makes a great Wonder Woman.

Personally I wasn’t overly enthused with Gunn’s Suicide Squad, it was okay - and his Guardians of the Galaxy while entertaining as part of a larger MCU whole, the thought of him rebooting the entire DC Cinematic Universe doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Why post an article quoting a twitter post when you can link directly to said twitter post?

Here's what she said:

The lengthy "thank you" (seriously, it's half the message) is kinda telling she won't be back.

This looks more like saving face to me than anything else. She was publicly humiliated, unfortunately, but, come on....if a studio wants to make money off of you, and believes there's an opportunity to do so, they'll let you make the movie...As far as we know, Matt Reeves' Batman sequel is moving forward, as is Todd Phillips' Joker, so, pinning the loss of the film on the ever-changing plan seems thin ice.

Whether she got fired, quit, or both parties decided to mutually part ways, whatever happened, is largely irrelevant. Yes, this lets her save face, but, her saying she believed there was no way forward for WW3 sounds like a load of empty nothing.

Also, Gunn's response is as politely professional as can be.

I hated Gunn’s Suicide Squad. Who would you prefer to steer DC if not Gunn? Personally, I would want someone with movie sensibilities rather than comic book sensibilities.

I really don’t know. In some ways I think the shared universe idea has failed with the DC movies and it’s starting to get tired with Marvel.

Some of the best DC films have been films which were able to stand on their own, Superman The Movie, Batman 89, Wonder Woman, Shazam and Aquaman.

Sadly, there’s people who actually believe this despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary. You don’t have an 80% second weekend drop for the plastered-all-over-marketing “grand series finale” without a day-and-date release even if the movie is a misleading piece of shit (looking at you, Halloween Ends).

And most theaters weren’t even open when WW84 was out due to Covid, so it can’t simply be tied down to people just not seeing it because it wasn’t very good, even though it really wasn’t.

I prefer they get rid of DCEU and make stand alone movies.
