The ultra flat ceiling paint from Benjamin Moore's worked quite well!

Has anyone considered tried a textured paint, like a tuscan or stone style, as is often used on outdoor rendered walls? I was just thinking that although matt paint is flat, it it still on a pretty smooth surface, so having a fine surface that is irregular in a 3D sense might diffuse / absorb light better. Same sort of principal as velvet vs any other fabric made out of the exact same fibres.
