Default Solid Cheap/Budget Blu-ray Player (need suggestions)

Hey everyone, as the title says, I'm looking to buy a blu-ray player. This will be a gift, and this will also be their first blu-ray player, so I'm looking for something cheap that'll still have good picture quality. Is all the quality generally the same or do the more expensive ones clearly have an advantage? Looking for suggestions on cheap players.

P.S. Can all blu-ray players pay DVDs?

Are you specifically looking for a 3D Blu-ray player? If not, your question may be better suited in the standard Blu-ray player forum:

If you're just looking for a standard player, I don't have any suggestions off the top of my head. However, I can say that the more expensive players typically feature Wi-Fi connectivity and more apps such as Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, etc. If you're not interested in having those apps and just need quality disc playback, then I think you'll be fine with a player in the range of $50 or $60.

And to answer your other question: Yes, all Blu-ray players are capable of playing DVDs.

Sweet thanks, that's pretty much the information I was looking for. I guess brand doesn't matter all that much.

So I ended up getting the Sony BDPS5200, it was on sale and I also managed to find it as an open box item at Best Buy. ($67.99!)

I just picked a Sony BDP-S5100 for $40 shipped off EBay. It's refurbished but includes a warranty. Score!
