Samsung 3D capable blu-ray players thread

Maybe you guys can help me, i'm quite desesperate!!

I have a samsung blu ray player ht-f5550 and a samsung tv ue55f6100.

In the option from my player, i selected play 3d to 3d (and also tried auto). When I try to play a 3d bluray disc like avatar, the menu isn't in 3d and when i start the film, it's playing in 2d. The only way I can get it to play in "3d" is by selecting 3d mode on my tv. Problem is: it only allows me to choose between 2d to 3d, left/right and up/down...Seems like it does not recognize the native 3d version on the bluray disc!

Any solution?

Have you tried performing a factory reset? Then leave all settings after it is reset as they are and try to play a disc. Are you sure you are using a real 3D Blu-Ray? Also, some discs are stacked, so make sure you have the 3D disc and not 2D disc in the player.

I just bought the tv, but i'll give a try to the factory reset.

I'm sure the blu ray contains both version on one disc...

I'm buying another bluray to see if I get the same problem...

I have a hdmi cable 1.3 so i don't know if that could be the problem...some people say i absolutely need 1.4, some say 1.3 high speed is sufficient...i'm confused

What movie is it? Your player may not be detecting a 3D TV connection.

Sorry, didn't realize. You said a disk "like" Avatar. The only things I can recommend is make sure your glasses are on and synced to the TV before trying to play the disc, try a different 3D film, or try a different cable. You may also go into your menu-> picture settings-> 3D and see if there are any configurable options. I don't own the TV, but just thought I would try and help.

I just dusted off the BD-C6900 that I boxed up ages go, in frustration, when I upgraded to the "recommended" firmware it asked for and then it crashed. It doesn't get past "loading", whether I put a disk in it or not (assuming it's loading firmware). I guess I could have sorted through the hundreds of posts to find the item I need, but I thought it might be faster if I simply cut to the chase and get the summary from you experienced folks. I'd like to get this thing back in use, now that there is actually enough content out there to make it useful.

Tried:

1. Unplug for minutes, hours, now a year, lol.
2. Holding buttons in many combinations to try to get a reboot.
3. Swearing loudly at it! (I think I heard it swore back. Might have been an echo)
4. Tried what tech support suggested. (three different procedures)
5. Tech support said they'd send me a disk of firmware, which never arrived, even after two reminders. Assuming this wouldn't have done any good anyways, since the firmware is stuck at loading. (This is when I finally mothballed it)

I'm not electronically challenged, but this one has me stumped. Is there a "factory reset" procedure, button combination or some other tribal knowledge that will help me get back to square one? From there, maybe I can at least use the Blueray and DVD functions.

Once I get back to square one, which upgrade(s) are good and which ones should I totally avoid?

It sounds like your player's bricked but try this:

Press the STOP ( ) button (on the front panel) for more than 5 seconds
with no disc inside. All settings including the password will revert to the
factory settings.
Don't use this unless absolutely necessary.
When the factory default settings are restored, all the user data stored in
the BD data will be deleted.

Did Samsung reveal any new BD players at CES? I can't find any information. I just bought a new 60" Samsung 3DTV and would like to get a 3D unit to go with it, but I'd prefer to wait until a 2015 model releases.
