Sony blu ray player 2d to 3d

I have the 100 buck sony blu player (bnp5200 ??) It says it can convert 2d to 3d. I finally got my glasses synced but not doing it. Does it have to do with my projector

Is the projector 3d capable? In any case 2d to 3d systems, well.... they suck (that is as politely as I can put it).

yea it is a 3d projector, ohwell wanted to watch some DBZ in a somewhat 3dish type last night

That is only possible when the disc format itself comes in 3D/Bluray. Only in that case your will your BD player be able to convert from 3D to 2D and viceversa

My Panasonic BDT110 can convert 2D Blu-Rays and DVDs to 3D. I set it on the highest setting it will go and the converted 3D on Blu-Rays is quite good. DVDs not so great.

The OP was not talking about a Panasonic BDT110

I tested yesterday 2012 bluray on my sony bdp-s6500. I set the 2d to 3d to the highest and it was pretty decent. I haven't tried with dvd yet.

On my very same model Sony (bdp-s6500) I have watched a number of films, particularly those set in the "future," in the 2-d to 3-d mode (highest) and I find it adds a feeling of depth but not much else. I find myself watching that way for awhile and eventually going back to the regular superior 2-d mode.
So it's kind of fun but not particularly rewarding as a "3-d experience."

I wasn't expecting a WOW with lots of pop outs and such, of course is nothing like a 3D blu but it is a nice add on nonetheless.

I do that too, but I use nt Oled TV 2D to 3D conversion tool
