I experimented a lot yesterday with dynamic and tubes. Ether on V281 sounded as close to end-game as it gets. I tried a lot of high treble music and I really enjoyed it. Then I threw the Ether on the Woo (tubes). Result on the same music was horrid. The sound crumbled.
Switch to the Hawks and tubes and it was great again. The Hawks don't bring out the best in tubes. Hawks sound the same from a phone, SS amp or tubes. Just the way they are. That's why I'm looking forward to the HD6XX. A dynamic driver that should let the individual tube flavours to flow through. Lots of HP members rave about the HD650 and tubes.

Funny on the Nighthawks. I’m good if someone trades with me. I heard my friends so
I know what I’d be getting in to. Just don’t know if anyone will trade and let them go. But i REALLY want them.
The Meze’s are a dynamic and man, these things punch way above their prove point. They sound so good with tubes. Actually they sound good all the time even portable on a DFR. They’re bass heavy but don’t bleed into the mids or treble.
Im really interested on how the HD6XX sounds when you get them.
I can assure you my balanced HD 650’s with tubes are sublime bro. You’re gonna
love it.

Yeah, the 650's on my Littledot amp are excellent, running some Mullard tubes, like wrapping yourself in a big warm musical blanket, lol.

Good to hear about the HD650/6xx.
Really looking forward to them.
Unbelievable I haven't ever listened to them. I have heard the HD600 and I liked.
It will be great to use the Woo a bit more.
V281 is getting 95% of the HP time at the moment.

I just checked Massdrop. Estimated shipping Dec 18th.
Balanced cables are easily available on eBay.
I might get the cable now so I'm ready.
