2.0 is a direct sequel to ENDHIRAN/ENTHIRAN/ROBOT, and I can't believe it got a substantial nationwide U.S. release! It's absolutely stupendously INSANE, and I've seen it twice now. And, it's in 3-D, and I don't mean some typical modern lousy post-conversion job like most 3-D films nowadays, I mean actual, native 3-D with a capital THREE. And not only is it native 3-D, it's the best use of 3-D I've seen in a post-1983 film. Incredible depth, but most importantly, there's stuff hitting you in the face from start to finish, right from the beginning of the opening credits crawl. Anyone know if there's a chance it'll get released in 3-D on Blu-ray???

My guess is that there MIGHT be a 3D release in France or Germany, or maybe Japan, and it'll probably be the Hindi dub, without English subtitles. But maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and there will be a 3D, English-friendly Blu-Ray of the original Tamil version. Nothing has been announced yet, though.

^Hopefully the Tamil version rightsholders don't get impossibly greedy and ask for ludicrous sums for home video rights. I doubt I'll buy a blu but audiences that want to see the film at home and understand Tamil will definitely enjoy the Tamil version better because a lot of the film's humor, pop-culture references and one-liners (Your kaal is disconnected, LOL) are written specifically for Tamil movie audiences, they fall flat in the Hindi version.

I'll only buy a Blu if it's 3D. Very sad if it doesn't get such a release.

2.0 is now available on DVD in Japan with Tamil audio and Japanese subtitles but it didn't get a Blu-ray release.

I don't think it will be released in Blu-ray or Blu-ray 3D in India as the film industry is planning to go full-Digital. It is there on Prime Video with Dolby Audio. I am stating it as Dolby Audio because it depends on the device. For example, Xbox supports Dolby Atmos and Android TVs support AC-3 (or) E-AC3.
