I really hope someone can help me with an issue that is greatly nagging me.
Tonight I tried to watch my "Doctor Who: Fury From the Deep" Blu-ray on my PS3 and every time the disc got to the franchise logo during start-up, the console shut itself off. It did the same thing in the exact same place 6 times. I ended up giving up. When I'm watching another Blu-ray, I go to watch one of the bonus features that's in SD and within a second, the console shuts itself off. For example, go to watch the music video on the "GhostBusters" Blu-ray, within a second of it starting, PS3 turns itself off. Try again, within a second of the MV starting, shuts off. On my Blu-ray of "The NeverEnding Story" try to watch one of the SD bonus features, within a second of it starting, console shuts off. Why is it doing this??? I simply cannot understand why. Sony has no idea why and no console repair shop is even remotely interested in looking into it. |

Looks like your PS3 is going to have a YLOD (Yellow Light of Death) error soon
![]() Not much can be done unless you can get someone to check the capacitors and replace any damaged/leaking ones. Only other solution is to get a new PS3 (if you need it for games), otherwise just get a standalone Blu-ray player |

the money ud spend fixing it though probably would cost as much as getting another ps3 or just a bluray player. if u go for another ps3 go for a slim over the fat ones as they are more reliable. as others have said though if u don't have to play games on it u are much better off just grabbing any bluray player. |

What I find strange is that the console plays some discs and not others. I look after my discs so all are clean and free of scratches yet I go to watch my DVD of "Species: The Awakening" the PS3 won't read it.
Watch a Region Free DVD I bought from Japan, it plays it. Watch "Harley Quinn Season 1" DVD it plays fine. |
