A few direct from Arrow's Shocktober sale, but the bulk of these had been ordered to a relative in the US who hazarded a trip to Mumbai to see his family. Lucky for me.

Happy New Year, folks!

Christmas care package came in on the 29th, courtesy of a friend in Korea, which included some Korean Film Archive (KOFA) titles and some rare and OOP editions.

Top Row (left to right): White Badge, Mother and a Guest, Goryeojang and Sopyeonje, all from KOFA.

Middle Row (left to right): Limited edition release of Tetsuya Nakashima’s Confessions which I sadly realised later does not include English subs, ultra-rare The Wailing Lenticular steelbook, John Wick 3: Parabellum Lenticular steelbook and the Korean cut for Wong Kar-wai’s The Grandmaster.

Bottom Row (left to right): the admittedly crappy film Ashfall, A Man and A Woman and the rarest title in the lot (also from KOFA), Aimless Bullet.

Then January 1st, 2021 began with an early morning delivery of all the Plain Archive releases I purchased in 2020! What a beautiful way to ring in the new year! Clockwise from top left: Believer Collector’s Box, special gift signed card and artcard that came with its preorder, One Cut of the Dead, limited edition Little Forest OST CD, Innocent Witness and Mal-Mo-E: The Secret Mission.

A few days ago, I was complaining about none of my orders having arrived. Well, my fears were partly mitigated by a bunch of stuff delivered by the post. I am still worried that some of the WowHD orders supposed to have shipped before the Eureka and 88Films orders still haven't reached. Anyhoo, this is what came:

Rest assured about your wowHD order . All of them are trickling in without being lost. But it can take anywhere between 1 -2 months delivery. Zavvi ended up losing a couple of my orders though .

Where did u get your Curse of Frankenstein from ? Wouldn't that be a WowHD delivery

It is. It originally shipped mid-Dec. Also ordered for High plains drifter, Curse of the undead and Mystery of the wax museum in the beginning of Jan, for which I got shipping notices before the Inner Sanctum Mysteries set, and yet that one is delivered, while these are as yet not.

Pity WowHD is mainly a US items seller. Think I'll need to look at Zavvi for Studio Canal releases.

Hurray, all my other WowHD stuff arrived too. It's purely coincidence, but all the Kino discs I ordered are Westerns.

Just in time for the anniversary of Parasite's historic win at the Oscars, received these yesterday, along with In Our Time, the only missing piece in my Edward Yang bluray collection.

These signed doodads don't matter in the long run. I have a 2-DVD edition of The Terminator signed by James Cameron (gifted by a dear friend who actually got the autograph), and it's a nice little thrill when you actually see it, but it's not like I need to watch the DVD anymore so there's no reason to take out the disc now, except maybe to impress any movie buff visitors

As someone who collects memorabilia, I completely disagree. I, for one, would go out of the way to get an edition that comes with hand-signed cards, specially when it is from actors/directors I love (as I've often done with Korean LEs). My copy of Miss Baek, for example, came with a signed card by the leading actress Han Ji-min, a personal favourite, and it's a prized possession because of it.

Different strokes for different folks.
