Put the disc in computer drive. If there is more than 4.7 g of info it is dual layered. Checked my WKRP set, dual layered.

Here is my completely non-scientific way of telling if it's single or dual.

You know those long-lasting lightbulbs which kinda look like screws? I have them in every overhead light and lamp in my house. When you look at the recorded side of a DVD under these lights, a dual-layered disc has a ripple effect. Single-layered are reflective (naturally) but there are no ripples. Another way to describe it, as Bob Ross would say, is they "look wiggly".

It sounds like bulls***, but I swear it's for real. I am assuming the ripple effect is from the two layers.

Easiest is to pop it into your computer and check the file size. I believe there are giveaway markings on the discs too, can't remember though. I got a bootleg set of All in the Family. They looked terrible and sure enough, the file sizes were smaller than they should have been. Sent is back, bought the Sony stacked disc sets and those looked much better.

Are there any differences between Shout's complete series DVD set of WKRP in Cincinnatti, and the season sets they released?

The original big box complete series had a bonus disc that I believe isn't available either in the single season releases or the smaller, compact complete series set that followed. On the big sized complete series...beware of compressed counterfeit! The fake looks & sounds horrible! They're everywhere and sometimes priced as genuine!

I guess that spreadsheet has been updated in the years since. I count 254 of the 299 songs are included (85%).
