I open all mine and inspect them, then put them in a plastic sleeve bag. Am thinking of getting a small binder to put the movies in though so I won't have to keep opening the Steelbook to watch the movie. Buying the movie seperate is too expensive and a waste of money since there's no point of paying for it twice.

I just ordered my first SteelBook and its not sealed. Gonna start ordering more in the near future and Ill open all of them myself

I thought that there were more of us that actually open them, but I am surprised at the numbers as well. I figured there would be more people that keep 'em sealed than what is up so far.

People do that all the time.

I usually open mine, mainly because I want to WATCH the movie

But I've noticed lately lots of steels have come with internal artwork, which I also look for now. Since Im opening it, I would like some internal artwork to look at as well

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised as well at how many people open them. I open mine as I just enjoy the nice case to go with a good movie I like. I would have thought more people here were the collectors who don't open though. Guess I was wrong.

I only have a few but I opened TDK and Watchment. I have another TDK and 2 Watchment that are still sealed with the intention to sell later.
The 007 I have are still sealed, who know maybe they will be worth something one day.

I've just recently started buying these steelbooks and being from Canada I decided to start with anything Futureshop exclusive. So far I've picked up:

Indiana Jones (KOTCS)
Ironman
Watchmen
The Dark Knight
I Am Legend
UK Gladiator (couldn't resist)
Snow White

And I have yet to open any of them. I'm not even sure why really. Part of me thinks it's insane to buy movies and not open them but another part of my thinks it equally insane to even consider removing the plastic from these things.

I dunno....

I buy SteelBooks for my own pleasure to open and play and enjoy. Any duplicates I have purchased were requested from others for resale (sans mark-up) to my Blu-ray brethren south of the border without access to Futureshop. Having said that, I think I may still have a sealed copy of TDK and Watchmen sitting around here somewhere.

As an aside, I hope people aren't expecting the Watchmen steelie to appreciate anytime soon, I was in the Whitby Futrureshop the other day and saw what must have been 60 of them on the shelf; they must have found an unopened box.

All the one that I bought new I opened them already..but it gets harder and harder trying to keep them sealed.

I used to open mine but after opening my IAL, Iron Man, Indy 4 and TDK I regretted it...

So I rebought them all.
But the craziest I've ever done was buying an opened copy of John Rambo and later on I bought a sealed one...

I will NEVER open a Steelbook even if I trade one and the person ask me to open it for him (her), I just can't do. There's something in my metabolism that keeps me from doing it.

Opening a Steelbook might be lethal for me and maybe someone else.
