Xena season 1 dvd re-release - Blu-ray Forum

anyone know any info on this? I saw the box art which is way different than the first release. I'm hoping for a new transfer but I think that's highly unlikely. Anyone have any info on this?

I just read that this would be Dolby 2.0, I think the original DVD releases were 5.1 right? though I'm sure the audio made for the show was just stereo so not the biggest deal.

I wish they would have had these slimmer case back in the day, when you have over 1200+ DVD these big TV season cases take a lot of place

Oh I went crazy in the early days of DVD. I had about 200-300 VHS (I can't recall now) and went DVD started I just went a buying craze. I had like 500 of them in the first 12 months. I started to slow down a bit by 2007 cause so many of them just sat there and had not been watch since I first got them. I am much slower with BD. About to reach 24 months on BD and just got 150

Lol damn, I think I had about 400 DVD's over the 10 year period I bought them. With Blu's I bought nearly all at Pawn Shops so I was getting them for about $10, and even now, I'm realizing I bought more movies than I ever watch, so I've been selling some off. It's not worth it to me if I only watch the movie once every couple of years, obviously i don't like it enough to own it.

I hate those big boxes too! I just don't know if I should reinvest in the series if it's the same as the previous sets.

I remember Xena and Hercules from my childhood. Good times and fun shows. But was there actually a real story arc in Xena? Or was it all just stand alone adventures every week?

Regarding Xena, it was a bit like The X-Files: 80% loners, 20% episode-revolving-around-the-season's-big bad/prophecy.

It starts to develop a long arc when the Romans show up. But that never stops there from being an adventure every week.

Bought season 1 on DVD a few days ago. Just watched the first 4 episodes. Damn good childhood memories. Loving it so far. Will pick up the rest of the series tomorrow after work. Really dig Joseph Lo Duca's music. Awesome stuff. When Xena's theme hits you just know sh!t is going down to happen haha. And dare I say that Lucy Lawless is damn sexy

I've been waiting for hercules and Xena to be released COMPLETELY before I start buying them. too many times with TV shows they cancel releasing the last few seasons because of sales figures, not gonna start collecting a series only to have the final couple seasons never come out

Same here. Luckily all seasons of Xena have been released. Can't wait to pick seasons 2-6 up tomorrow.

are we sure? Amazon only shows seasons 1-3 and season 3 was released only 6 months ago. The rest are the old out of print Anchor Bay releases

IDK about US releases. But here in Germany all 6 seasons have already been released on DVD. Gotta pick 'em up fast before they go OOP or become way too expensive. Right now they want only 13 bucks per season.

lucky you, here in the states they're releasing them 1 season per year and it's only been 3 years.
