my vizio 3dtv came with x2 paid of 3d glasses that i dont really like. the problem is that they are not fully wrapped so the sides are letting light through or my eyes will glare off to the sides of the glasses.
I am looking for 3D glasses that are a full wrap that will not let any light through the sides. Im not sure what is good out there but these glasses IMO suck. thanks |

I would shop around and try a couple cheaper pairs first, if you can afford to grab a pair of oaks you can afford a pair or 2 of some cheaper choices before totally committing.
I do own a pair of Oakley Eye Patch 2 sunglasses and I love them to death, my other 2 pairs (cheapy) are worth 10 bucks maybe and they get just as much wear - food for thought. Check these out: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...d=251164400701 Something like that may work for you, 16.00 with the shipping, not too bad.. Happy hunting! I don't even have a passive 3D tv but I will still tell you the Oakleys will be amazing. I have a pair of the Oakley Gascan sunglasses which are the same frame used for the Oakley 3D glasses and they are excellent glasses and do a very good job at not letting light in. But they do run $120 so you are looking at $360 for 3 pairs. Yikes!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005OLKVJ0I was at bestbuy and they have a set of rocketfish oakley 3d glasses. I tried these on and they are amazing. The vizio glasses i have now thst came with my tv are junk they have. There is obvious crosstalk and the lenses while cleaning do tend to fall out. They suck
What would you say about these oakley they are rocketfish. 32.00 on amazon. They feel super comfy theres no light bleed coming from the sides. Bestbuy was asking 65.00 for them so i decided to shop around http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006RM...sr=8-1&pi=SL75 I also debated these for 30.00 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005OLKVJ0 http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0057K...sr=8-8&pi=SL75 Last edited by BZN4LC4PON3; 02-24-2013 at 02:08 AM. |

They do if the filters aren't good enough/are improperly installed. It's like having a shade of cyan that's too light on anaglyph glasses (and technically that doesn't even need to be a simile because anaglyph glasses ARE a form of passive 3D glasses).

The problem with the vizio glasses is that they a flimbzy and the inserts move around. Whichdoes cause the image to look weired. I may pick up those oakly rocketfish sets at bb for 60 or do u think i should grab the oakley tintin ones for 100 or the 120.00 set

![]() Besides shape, size, and durability, is there actually a functional qualitative difference between the lenses you would find in Oakleys and those in a cheap (non-defective) pair from a RealD theater? Last edited by BleedOrange11; 02-25-2013 at 06:45 PM. |

Have you been to a theater to see a 3D film? Did you enjoy it? Im pretty sure those were not Oakley brand glasses. If the Vizio glasses don't satisfy you try the real 3D glasses from a theater. 60.00 you can but 3 3D blu rays. If you do get the Oakley glasses & the 3D looks better than the Vizio, please let me know.

Otherwise, you're defeating the purpose of choosing Passive over Active. "Passive 3D technology requires additional cost to be incurred in the manufacture of the panel to add the polarizing filters that make passive 3D possible to the panel. By having this added expense in the panel the glasses required for 3D can be inexpensive." - Vizio Q & A |

I actually have a few (hell like 12 lol) different pair. I had the original LGs. I have like 6pair for company and their kids. I then saw the Rocketfish which are designed by Oakley and I love them. They are a heavy frame and I believe same grade of polycarbonite as their regular glasses. I bought 2 pair of those for like 10.00 a pair on blowout from BB. Then i saw the Gunnars at BB again on blowout for like 10.00 got 2 more pair. Again good frame and good optics. Then I got the Hobbit ones for like 5.00 got 2 pair of those. My favorite are the Rocketfish followed by the gunnars followed by the hobbits.
