Killzone: Shadow Fall - First 4P Co-op Details

Set thirty years after the events of the Killzone trilogy, the world of Killzone Shadow Fall is a very different place. Forced together by circumstance, the two rival factions of the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall.

Tensions are high, and a war can spark at any moment. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshall, the most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.

Guerrilla was at the PlayStation Meeting earlier tonight to take the wraps off a brand new Killzone title for the PlayStation 4! To mark this exciting milestone, Game Director Steven ter Heide has prepared a few words.
Today we are happy we can finally show you what we have been working on.

It has been an amazing journey for us so far, being offered the opportunity to be a launch title for the new PlayStation, and the subsequent mild panic to figure out how to best handle all of that.

But being able to now share it with you is both a scary and proud moment. We are hoping you will like what we have created, and are happy to present you with the first glimpse of Killzone Shadow Fall.

The piece of live gameplay we presented at the PlayStation Meeting shows you a new world, a new situation and a new hero.

The game is set in a near future, thirty years after the events of Killzone 3. The world is a very different place; two rival factions known as the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall.

Tensions are high, and the cold war they are embroiled in is about to go hot. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshal, you. The most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.

From responding to bold attacks, to quiet infiltrations or all out combat, you will be required to adapt and think on your feet as you have to face a variety of escalating events that could destroy your home world.

We are looking forward to sharing some more of the exciting events and features that we have been working on. Keep your eyes out for more news soon.

The city environments in Killzone 3 had a brighter, reflective surface style, so it wouldn't surprise me if other environments still have that dark, gritty look.

I still hope someone uploads the entire gameplay video in High Quality. The gameplay looked incredible! I love the direction they are taking with this new game.

This series really needed to leave the dark universe, and it's done just that. I'm pleasantly surprised at how colorful this game is.

The graphics are incredible, and the game itself looks really good.

GG BETTER have co op campaign AND objectives. They have never gotten this right. It's a much needed/wanted feature in this day and age.

Is it me, or did the Northern Irish Troubles have an influence on the story? Two groups that despise one another situated so close to each other, separated only by a wall, all while we see constant domestic terrorist attacks (from the looks of things, I'm pretty certain it's a similar story with the Vektans on the Helgast, only probably a bit less militaristic.

Tell them will there be server browsers for online. Oh, I'd kill to have one of those back in the Killzone series, seeing how I think that matchmaking in gaming is an abomination.
