Independent British distributors Network have confirmed that they will add five additional titles to their Blu-ray catalog: Michael Anderson's The Quiller Memorandum (1966), Zoltan Korda's The Four Feathers (1939), Peter Sasdy's Hands of the Ripper (1971), Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's Black Narcissus (1947), and Brian Desmond Hurst's His and Hers (1961).

The Quiller Memorandum

George Segal gives a bravura performance as an unorthodox secret agent on the run from a neo-Nazi organisation in this stylish espionage thriller directed in West Berlin by Michael Anderson. Tautly scripted by Harold Pinter, this multiple BAFTA-nominated film also features Alec Guinness, Max von Sydow and Senta Berger. The Four Feathers

‘The British Film’ collection was launched by Network Distributing in April 2013 as part of a five-year plan to release over 450 vintage British films through a deal with Studio Canal, one of Europe’s leading distribution and production companies. Set in a Britain of the near-future, Memoirs of a Survivor tells the story of ‘D’, a housewife trying to carry on after a cataclysmic war that has left society in a state of collapse. Rubbish is piled high in the streets among near-derelict buildings covered with graffiti; the electricity supply is variable, and water is now collected from a van. ‘D’ spends her time examining her relations with authority, with the marauding gangs of brutalised children who roam the streets, and with Emily, the traumatised, orphaned teenager who is delivered into her care.

Had never heard of Memoirs of a Survivor before reading about Network's DVD release of it. Sounds like an intriguing drama. Really like this mix of titles in the British Film line. Other forthcoming June titles I'm looking forward to are Don't Bother to Knock, The Extra Day, Home at Seven and Seven Nights in Japan (directed by Lewis Gilbert).
