How to fix PS4′s inconsistent YouTube playback in one easy step

A lot of PS4 early adopters were displeased to hear that there wouldn’t be an official YouTube app for the system at launch. In addition to this, PS4 users have been voicing their complaints about how the system doesn’t consistently play YouTube videos through the console’s web browser. Thankfully there is a simple fix for the shoddy consistency of YouTube playback on PS4.

The system’s browser will play most embedded YouTube videos fine but when it comes to viewing videos directly from YouTube it often tells you that you need to update your flash player. Don’t worry about this at all, simply click right here on your PS4 web browser (if you’re using it to read this) and enable HTML5 playback. For people not viewing this post on a PS4 the link you want to go to when you get to your PS4 is youtube.com/html5.

After you do this on the PS4′s web browser most videos should play on YouTube since they’ll be playing through HTML5 and not requiring flash.

List of PS4 Error Codes

Error Code: CE-32889-0

Status Massage: Download has canceled because the downloading of this content has previously been started and experienced an error.

Solution:
Step 1: Go to [Notifications] > [Downloads] and check the content is on the list. Delete the content from [Options], and retry downloading the content from the Library.
Step 2: If you fail downloading the content again, back up the data using USB device or PS+ online storage, and then go to Safe Mode to try, option 4.[Rebuild Database]. After the Rebuild Database is finished, bring back the data and retry your download from the Library.
Step 3: If the error occurs again, go to [Settings] > [Initialization] > [Initialize PS4] and try the PS4 initialization.

Error Code: CE-32928-4

Solution:
Close the application and retry. Restart the PS4 system if you continue to receive this error

Error Code: CE-33179-3

Status Massage: Application is not found.

Solution:
Retry after the installation is completed.
Installation of Add-Ons fails until the installation of application installation is complete.

Error Code: CE-33991-5

Status Massage: Get the status of the non HTTP_GET_200 in Internet connection.

Solution:

Connection timed out / connection error while receiving data. Network may not be stable now. Please retry after a while.

NP-32157-8 Trophy Sync Error
FIX
1. Backup your save files to PS+ cloud or USB.
2. Create a new user, choose guest and don't link a psn account, he will be called User1 by default.
3. With User1 go to Settings -> Initialize and choose to delete your main profile. It will delete the save data and any bugged and un-synced trophies but will leave the downloaded games.
4. Create your main profile once again.
5. Earn the bugged trophies once more and it should sync.

PS4: How To Buy US Digital PSN Games

How To Create a US PSN Account On PS4

To create a US PSN account start off by logging out of your PSN account on the PS4 and then selecting new user.

Now, select 'Create a User'. This will take you through to the user agreement and, once you've accepted that, to a PSN welcoming screen, where you need to select, 'Next'.

You will now be at a log-in screen. Instead of entering your log-in details, select, 'New to PSN? Create an Account' at the bottom of the screen.

Now you will come to a screen that's titled 'Sign up for PSN'. Select 'Sign Up Now'.

At the next screen you will now need to input your country/region, your language and your date of birth. Set your country as 'United States' and enter your language and date of birth as normal (be aware that the US format for date of birth is month/day/year, rather than day/month/year).

Now you need to pick your City, State/Province and postal code. We're not sure if the postal code and city need to match up, but, naturally, we went for Beverley Hills, 90210 and that worked fine (Tip: try and use a state that does not charge tax on digital sales such as Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, Montana or Oregon.)

Next, you will be asked for your Sign-in ID, which is your email address, and a password.

You can't use the email address that your UK account is registered with for a new PSN account so, if you've got another email account, use that, or create a new one.

Once you've entered the necessary information you will have to enter your online ID and your name. Enter whatever you wish and then you will go though a series of screens where you have to set your preferences on how you want your name to be displayed, who can see your friends list, and so on.

Once you've done all that, you've got your US PSN account.

How To Get A US Shipping Address (This step should be used only if you buy from places like Amazon since they require a US address, although you could just make one up as far as I'm aware. This is just to play it safe.)

Before we get on to buying US digital PS4 games, you will first need a US shipping address.

There are likely a number of websites that will offer this service, but we used Borderlinx.

All you need to do is create an account by entering your name, email address and password. You'll get an activation link sent to your email and, once you've clicked that, you will have access to a Borderlinx account with a US address that you'll find under 'My Suite Addresses'.

These websites can be used to ship products to, but as you're only going to be dealing with digital codes, there's no need to worry about that.

How To Buy US Digital PS4 Games From The Amazon PSN Store

Though there are other sites you can purchase US digital codes from, for the sake of ease we've stuck with Amazon.com - who will often be among the cheapest.

Now that you've got your US address, go to the US Amazon site and create yourself a US account.

Go to the Amazon PSN store and pick out whatever digital PS4 game it is that you want to buy.

When you checkout, enter the US address that you got from Borderlinx or a similar site as your shipping address.

We used a UK card to pay for the game we bought and found that you cannot use the UK address that the card is registered to when buying your digital PS4 game.

Instead, use the US address as your billing address - this worked fine for us despite the fact that we paid with a UK card.

You should now be given a code that you can redeem on your PS4 to download the game that you've purchased.

How To Redeem A US PSN Code On Your PS4

In order to redeem your US PSN code, open the PlayStation store on your PS4 while logged in to your US PS4 account (you can't redeem US codes on a UK account) and scroll to the bottom to select Redeem Codes. Put in your code and you'll now own the game.

One thing to be aware of is that if you purchase any DLC for the game you've purchased in the future, you'll need to buy the DLC from the same region. In other words, UK DLC will not work on a US digital copy of a game and vice versa.

We're also aware that some of you will want to play US PSN digital games on your UK account, in which case, you'll need to do the following.

How To Play US PSN Games On Your UK PS4 Account

If you want to play the US PSN digital games you've downloaded on your UK account - as well as earning Trophies - then you'll be pleased to know this is possible.

If your US account is not set as your primary account, then any content downloaded from the US store will be locked on your UK account, as denoted by the lock symbol in the image below.

What you'll need to do is log-in to your US account, go into settings, select, 'PSN', followed by 'Activate as Your Primary PS4' and then 'Activate'.

If you now log back in to your UK account, you should find that US content is now unlocked.

So there you have it. US PSN digital PS4 games downloaded for a cheaper price, available to play on your UK account.

Tip to "almost" get the Youtube App back.

Mavrick has already posted the

trick to fix the spotty playback of clips (clips uploaded in native mp4 will play fine, but the flash video clips will need to be viewed via html5)

Now, to get that "youtube app" feel back, you need to click or type

http://www.youtube.com/tv

From there, The Square button will put you in full screen mode, and with the option (triangle) button you can bookmark the page for easy access. If you use the page often, it will also start appearing in your "Frequently Used Pages" list.

While in the Youtube mode, if you go to "Pair Device" and pair your phone tablet, you will also be able to control the interface with your mobile device.

If you have bought one of these there is one important thing you need to know regarding its Charge.

This Base uses a separate AC adapter freeing up the need to connect to PS4.

When you place your controller on top, you have to press down on it (Spring trap) to charge. You can charge 2 simultaneously.

After the charge is complete & the controller(s) are left in the charge position, the Base will deplete the controllers battery. I've experienced a full depletion of DS4's charge within 24 hours.

The workaround to this problem is simple.

Once the battery light indicator on DS4 stops blinking, press down on the controller while its resting in the charge position. This will disconnect the controller(s) to the base yet still hold them, meaning you do not have to remove the controller(s), just release the spring trap.

After doing this & pressing the controller(s) down to charge, you should only see the light on DS4 flash yellow 1 time. (Depending on how many days/weeks left unused, the battery may need to charge)

Note: Controllers don't hold charge after 36 hours of inactivity.

Update on my PS4 controller issues.

Should note, only 18 hours of inactivity before entire depletion of battery life.

Today I forgot to have them charging. Yesterday late, I had 2 fully charged & 2 in other room which were fully charged 2 days ago. I grabbed one from the charging dock & pressed the PS button & nothing happened. I pressed it a few more times & the light came on & system started up. Once the system brought me to the home screen the message to charge DS4 immediately popped up. I pressed PS button quickly to see what level charge was there. 0/3 bars & then the controller light went out entirely.

No problem, I grabbed the other one since that was fully charged & not on the charge base. Pressed the PS button, no light (system is still on) pressed again, nothing. Put both in charging base & they are charging now.

Went to other room & grabbed the 2 that had not been in use for 2 days. Neither of those worked either so I guess there charge is at 0 as well.

4 fully charged controllers, 2 dead after 18 hours of inactivity & the other 2, 48 hours that I know of before both dead.

Just yesterday I played around 30 minutes on 1 & downloaded them 2 PSN games. Before shutting console off (I always look) I noted 3/3 charge.

These controllers did not all come from the same source btw.

2 from Evil Controllers
1 from Amazon
1 with PS4 system from FS

Last experiment. My av receiver was a kill switch to the charge base. I changed this so power will run 24/7 to charge base.

I have the same charger Derb does and I have no issue with it. I can leave controllers on there for days and when I pick them up they are fully charged.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but at the very least I'm leaning towards he has a defective charger.

How to get hold of your screen shots (you need a smartphone or tablet and the PlayStation app)

On the PS4; when you take a screenshot, send it someone on your friends list. Currently I've found that PS3 recipients can't see the attachment! But that doesn't affect the next bit.

On the PlayStation app; go to the messages section and you will see the message you just sent, complete with full size attachments. Open the image and click Save at the top; it's now on your device and you can find it in the gallery ready to send via email or whatever you want!

After doing this & pressing the controller(s) down to charge, you should only see the light on DS4 flash yellow 1 time. Now, select 'Create a User'. This will take you through to the user agreement and, once you've accepted that, to a PSN welcoming screen, where you need to select, 'Next'. You will now be at a log-in screen. Instead of entering your log-in details, select, 'New to PSN? Create an Account' at the bottom of the screen. Now you will come to a screen that's titled 'Sign up for PSN'. Select 'Sign Up Now'. At the next screen you will now need to input your country/region, your language and your date of birth. Set your country as 'United States' and enter your language and date of birth as normal (be aware that the US format for date of birth is month/day/year, rather than day/month/year). Now you need to pick your City, State/Province and postal code. We're not sure if the postal code and city need to match up, but, naturally, we went for Beverley Hills, 90210 and that worked fine (Tip: try and use a state that does not charge tax on digital sales such as Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, Montana or Oregon.) Next, you will be asked for your Sign-in ID, which is your email address, and a password. You can't use the email address that your UK account is registered with for a new PSN account so, if you've got another email account, use that, or create a new one. Once you've entered the necessary information you will have to enter your online ID and your name. Enter whatever you wish and then you will go though a series of screens where you have to set your preferences on how you want your name to be displayed, who can see your friends list, and so on. Once you've done all that, you've got your US PSN account. How To Get A US Shipping Address (This step should be used only if you buy from places like Amazon since they require a US address, although you could just make one up as far as I'm aware. This is just to play it safe.) Before we get on to buying US digital PS4 games, you will first need a US shipping address. There are likely a number of websites that will offer this service, but we used Borderlinx. All you need to do is create an account by entering your name, email address and password. You'll get an activation link sent to your email and, once you've clicked that, you will have access to a Borderlinx account with a US address that you'll find under 'My Suite Addresses'. These websites can be used to ship products to, but as you're only going to be dealing with digital codes, there's no need to worry about that. How To Buy US Digital PS4 Games From The Amazon PSN Store Though there are other sites you can purchase US digital codes from, for the sake of ease we've stuck with Amazon.com - who will often be among the cheapest. Now that you've got your US address, go to the US Amazon site and create yourself a US account. Go to the Amazon PSN store and pick out whatever digital PS4 game it is that you want to buy. When you checkout, enter the US address that you got from Borderlinx or a similar site as your shipping address. We used a UK card to pay for the game we bought and found that you cannot use the UK address that the card is registered to when buying your digital PS4 game. Instead, use the US address as your billing address - this worked fine for us despite the fact that we paid with a UK card. You should now be given a code that you can redeem on your PS4 to download the game that you've purchased. How To Redeem A US PSN Code On Your PS4 In order to redeem your US PSN code, open the PlayStation store on your PS4 while logged in to your US PS4 account (you can't redeem US codes on a UK account) and scroll to the bottom to select Redeem Codes. Put in your code and you'll now own the game. One thing to be aware of is that if you purchase any DLC for the game you've purchased in the future, you'll need to buy the DLC from the same region. In other words, UK DLC will not work on a US digital copy of a game and vice versa. We're also aware that some of you will want to play US PSN digital games on your UK account, in which case, you'll need to do the following. How To Play US PSN Games On Your UK PS4 Account If you want to play the US PSN digital games you've downloaded on your UK account - as well as earning Trophies - then you'll be pleased to know this is possible. If your US account is not set as your primary account, then any content downloaded from the US store will be locked on your UK account, as denoted by the lock symbol in the image below. What you'll need to do is log-in to your US account, go into settings, select, 'PSN', followed by 'Activate as Your Primary PS4' and then 'Activate'. If you now log back in to your UK account, you should find that US content is now unlocked. So there you have it. US PSN digital PS4 games downloaded for a cheaper price, available to play on your UK account.

Mavrick has already posted the http://www.youtube.com/html5 trick to fix the spotty playback of clips (clips uploaded in native mp4 will play fine, but the flash video clips will need to be viewed via html5) Now, to get that "youtube app" feel back, you need to click or type http://www.youtube.com/tv From there, The Square button will put you in full screen mode, and with the option (triangle) button you can bookmark the page for easy access. If you use the page often, it will also start appearing in your "Frequently Used Pages" list. While in the Youtube mode, if you go to "Pair Device" and pair your phone tablet, you will also be able to control the interface with your mobile device.

I can leave controllers on there for days and when I pick them up they are fully charged. I'm not sure what the problem is, but at the very least I'm leaning towards he has a defective charger.

partridge Blu-ray Ninja Member since:Oct 2005 Location:England	How to get hold of your screen shots (you need a smartphone or tablet and the PlayStation app) On the PS4; when you take a screenshot, send it someone on your friends list. Currently I've found that PS3 recipients can't see the attachment! But that doesn't affect the next bit. On the PlayStation app; go to the messages section and you will see the message you just sent, complete with full size attachments. Open the image and click Save at the top; it's now on your device and you can find it in the gallery ready to send via email or whatever you want! Huzzah.
