Can a Blu-Ray player be rooted like an Android device? - Blu-ray Forum

I'm really tired of all the restrictions by my player. Its greed on Sony's part.

There are software than hardware limitations. So I was wondering if there's some sort of software or update that could root it (like Odin) and install any apps I want.

The device uses Java so should I look for some Java software?

Do a google search for your player and see if there is a custom firmware you can use.
