You take the good (DVD), you take the bad (no Blu-ray), and...I guess you have the Facts of Life.

The show was shot on videotape so BLi would have only given us fewer discs. But it is a cool set.

I started with season 6 since I last owned season 5.

Trivia- I just noticed they listed Paul Haggis as executive script consultant and wrote 11 episodes of the series.

I kinda like how they packaged the sets together to take up less room. Season 1 is my favorite but then I had a crush on a couple of the girls!

I hope that after this comes out for it's wide release, it ends up at Costco like WKRP and Welcome Back Kotter, which by far had the lowest prices on those two sets.

I don't expect it to be as cheap as those other two sets, since it ran longer than either of those shows and therefore has a lot more discs. But it would be cool if they get a great price again compared to other retailers.

I'm ordering from Amazon, and they have lowered the price to $127, which amounts to $136 after ND tax. More than I was hoping to pay, but I'd rather have it now than wait for it to hit Costco or something. Can't wait to revisit this series!

I will likely pick this up later on this year, perhaps around Black Friday or something when it is on sale. I already have Seasons 1-5 on DVD but I have been waiting for the last 8 years to get the complete series and now that opportunity has finally come. I never thought that this would happen!

Just ordered this set New on eBay for $41 free shipping.

How is the quality? I am not super critical, if they're decent DVD picture quality I'll be more than happy.

Very happy they included the CC, without that I wouldn't have bought it.

Got my set today. It was new and sealed. I examined all discs, it seems most have a few light scratches, nothing major but one even had a partial fingerprint. Is this status quo for Shout Factory?

A lot of Shout! sets on eBay are bootlegs - very good bootlegs, but still bootlegs. Given the cheap price, you may have bought one. https://www.shoutfactory.com/editori...tleg-media-faq

It's possible. The individual cases are extremely cheaply made. It does have the booklet. I'm going to put one into my DVD drive of my computer to see if it's single layered. And do some further investigation.
I am an online seller of DVDs. I bought this set for my personal collection. If it is a bootleg, I'm going to report the seller because this hurts everyone trying to have a legitimate business.
Thanks for the link Wezzo.

It seems it is a bootleg. I emailed Shout, they agreed. Single layer discs too. It's going to be returned.

Seller refunded my money, no return necessary.

At least that was easy.

I'm watching my way through this set and I've noticed that, while the aspect ratio for most episodes is 4:3 (as it should be), some episodes are stretched to full-screen. The fact that it's not happening with most episodes makes me think it can't be a TV or a player issue, but wanted to see what all the experts (that's all of you ) think. Has anyone else seen this??

Thinking of ordering this set. As of right now, the series is not available for streaming anywhere, nor can you buy it on iTunes.
