In a word no ...................... The major strengths of the HD-598's ( spaciousness, soundstage, smooth frequency response, etc.) are due to it's open back design. You'll find that most audiophile headphones use this approach for sonic nirvana
![]() ![]() If you like the sound of Sennheiser's ...... I would suggest looking at some of their closed models ........... The Momentum and Urbanite come to mind ...... Then there's the HD-4xx series ....... But as they say ....... You'll have to audition them for yourself ![]() |

If you want an excellent 'closed' back can, if you can find a used Denon AHD200 (Made by Fostex) it would be worth picking one up....plenty of bass but very detailed and mostly neutral in sound. Excellent frequency range response with sub-bass you can feel and sounds great unamped right into a tablet or iPod. Plus if you ever get the itch to mod or upgrade for better audio quality, there's Lawton Audio which specializes in modding the Fostex cans:
http://www.lawtonaudio.com/index.html I'm actually just ordered the Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Purpleheart phones instead of upgrading my Denon AHD2000's.... will be much less expensive for probably the same end result I could have gotten with the AHD2000's... ![]() Last edited by Vracer111; 04-10-2016 at 10:10 AM. |

I'm looking into getting some wireless headphones for my bedroom I'm currently looking at the sennheiser rs120. I don't want any wires to show is it safe for me to run the rca wires that are attached to it in wall or will that be a fire hazard
