As a huge Street Fighter fan and PS4 owner i'm happy about this but as a gamer I don't really like the whole exclusivity deal.

Nice quote from Jim Ryan after the Tomb Raider exclusivity made the rounds

So do we feel the need to go out and buy outright exclusivity? Probably not.

This is a huge deal for Sony. Street Fighter is one of the most played fighters out there. And just think of all the tournaments Sony will host for this. Personally I didn't make a fuss about Tomb Raider, but it's good to see Sony getting more exclusives, since it's the thing I see they're lacking the most, from XBox fanboys. Which we know isn't true.

I love this site. Such a difference from the fanboy wars going on right now at Gametrailers, IGN and Gamespot. Anyways, here are my thoughts about this deal:

As an owner of all three consoles, I dislike this practice and feel in most cases it just hurts the gamer. With that said, we do not know the full details of the deal. Is this a Dead Rising 3/Bayonetta 2 type deal where they are funding development of a game that otherwise wouldn't be made? If so then I have no problem with Sony funding development in return for console exclusivity. However, if this is another 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' situation, then I will refuse to support Sony and Capcom. I will instead buy the game used purely on principle.

Moneyhatting needs to stop as it does absolutely nothing for gamers.

And it could also be that Sony will just act as the marketer/ Publisher for Capcom easing the burden on them, but not costing all that much for Sony either.

People spout the losses (due to the phone business and TVs) like it's a factor for the entire corp outside of lending purposes or Market cap, or the non loss leading sub division, and forget that Sony is a multi billion $$ making company with Billions in assets.

Now should we discuss if securing an exlcusivity was a wise move? Probably.
I am not into fighters, so I have no idea if SF is a big deal (worldwide speaking), and if Fighters themselves are still really that relevant to start with...
SF being Exclusive is a HUGE deal, Street Fighter 2 is what started it all. As a gamer it sucks just like Tomb Raider sucked. That being said im buying it day 1 lol, lets just hope PS4 gets a good arcade stick for this.

I was really hoping that SF5's art direction wouldn't look so similar to SF4. I would have liked a less cartoony style, but maybe that's just me.

The style itself doesn't bother me. The fact that it looks so similar does.

Street Fighter V sounds great, and with the previous announcement of Tekken 7, it begs the question...

whatever happened to Namco's promised Tekken X Street Fighter? Did it get canceled because SFxT sold poorly?

I always wanted a Tekken/Virtua Fighter crossover. VF is still my all time favorite fighting game series.

I wish they'd do another Capcom vs. SNK. I've always liked the SNK games, probably because they had a Neo Geo multi system at my local bowling alley I used to wear out as a teen.

I'd also love another Marvel vs. Capcom, but you have to wonder if that will happen with Disney owning Marvel now.

My memory must be shot.

What exactly was exclusive about Tomb Raider ?

I bought it on PS3 the day it came out & at least remember DLC being available too.

Edit, oh Rise Of
