Pyramid, see my pm.

Your market analysis is based on trying to sell extremely sub-par blu-rays, so no one was ready to buy. Additionally, there was little to no promotional activity. There's lots of free promotional activity to do, and people will readily buy a popular classic film on blu-ray if the quality is deserving.

As far as market share, it's damn near irrelevant in the Tamil blu-ray market. You're literally second place... And people don't buy Tamil blu-rays for the brand; they buy it for the film and the quality.

Mark my words: if you get Sunny involved and release Aboorva Sagotharagal, you will see a marked increase in buyers.

Read your private message and see some more information.

Take this to your decision makers.

Pyramid, its going to be a waste if you going to keep the negatives till the end without doing any good out of it. You just dont know the value of Aboorva Sagotharargal. Theres tons of Kamal fans out there. Its a movie worth venturing in. Try to talk to the decision makers. After all, they wanna make money right, make money out of this then since it will be a golden release than keeping their negatives and rights to dust.

I couldn't agree more. You're sitting on a gold mine with all your negatives and classic film stock.

Just like in Padayappa.

I too agree and we would be really happy to buy the bluray of the old classics like apporva sagotharargal, padayappa kind of movies. These definitely need bluray treatment. So plz Pyramid, work with Sunny and make those negatives into blurays. There are so many outside the forums waiting for these kind of movies in bluray along with us.

Hope we can expect some golds & diamonds from your side.

Beyond Blu-Ray, the rightsholders can use new HD masters for HDTV broadcast. Maybe producers won't feel the need to make HD masters of old films until more people in India have HD service. TV rights seem to take precedence over home video rights with Tamil film producers.

Sun seems to be remastering a lot of their old stuff too. For example, Padayappa's Vetri Kodi Kattu was shown on Sun Music HD and it looked pretty solid.

It is nice that everybody wants the movie, Pyramid has the rights and Sunny is will to do the Blu-Ray. But according to Pyramid they see a very low market for remastered blu-rays. Why not we start a KICK STARTER program for one blu-ray of Sunny's choice from Pyramids collection of rights and then take it from there. I am pretty sure Pyramid will also be happy and fans can also be happy. It is just a suggestion.

Yes we do has been the only response. Stop day dreaming guys. Let's believe and pour our appreciation when it really happens. Don't get carried away by the hype of an insider posting. Show me a quality product first and let's do the talking.

Nayagan DVD is full or cut because in sun tv telecasts, the violence and murder scenes are cut including a song, "nila athu vanathu mela".
