PK (2015) Blu-Ray !!!

I was expecting 4-5 pieces of film (5-6 inches), but they have included only 2 films.
The film reel I have got is of Tapasvi Maharaj (Saurabh Shukla) and it has English Subtitles too. Not happy

What are the audio codecs? from the screenshot it says Dolby and DTS, both lossless? This one should have released with Dolby Atmos.

Am fairly sure the audio will have DTS-HD MA and lossy DD 5.1. YRF are the only fools that have two lossless tracks on their BD's.

RHV should have done a better job. Here are some actual pictures of my screen. The previous ones were PC screenshots. The bit rate is low, colors are dull, sharpness is poor and lossless audio only. There are 3 trailers, 4 deleted scenes and 18 behind the scenes. Total disk space used is 42GB.

Magenta overload

I remember that the movie had a heavy touch of magenta even when I saw it in the theatre. I remember the movie look like a digital video. But I don't recall the movie having such a washed out look.

Why the screenshots looking like a You Tube HD video? Hopefully, it's sharper than this on the actual screen. I'll check it out for myself when I receive my copy.

I was on the fence about PK BluRay. Now, I am glad I did not get it even thought its only listed $14.99 at local BR store here.

It has one of the poorest Video Quality. I'll wait til china or HK releases it. There is a chance that REM in Germany might author it since they are releasing it in Germany.

Its on their website. over all, Reliance PK BR is a clear disaster.

Yip i meant lossy. Thought there wasn't a lossless codec.

Last night, I played the Blu-ray and compared it with its official HD trailer. I think this one accurately represents the movie. The picture is a bit on the soft side but the DTS-HD MA 5.1 track is quite nice. It’s acceptable for a regular Bollywood movie, but not for the biggest blockbuster.

I have a problem with all the Relience authorized Blu-Rays. There is this framing issue with all of them. DABANNG, OUATIM, HAIDER. The picture gets "jerky" when scenes move fast. I dont know its my cheap vizio tv's refreshing issue or Relience authoring problem.

Interesting thing is, I have no such issue with YRF, T-Series authored BluRays (UGLY, HNY, DON, BULLETT RAJA, SPECIAL 26) or REM German BluRays.

I wonder Similar problem could exist with Reliance authored PK BluRay here!

I just had a chance to watch this BD. Horrible black levels. Everything looks gray and washed out. Clearly a case of wrong color space usage. Similar to the tweaking applicable for veer zaara and English vinglish, had to change color space in my player to correct the black levels.

From my BD player. I have oppo 103 so donno if you have the option in ur player. Go to video options, HDMI color space > change from 'auto' to 'RGB video' or 'RGB PC' or 'full RGB' etc. One of the options should correct the black levels on ur display. This will be obvious as even a black black screen at begining when they are thanking sponsors etc will start displaying a deeper black.

Note that for correctly authored BDs do not apply this as it will result in black crush which will take away shadow details.'

Not to mention ur display (Projector/TV) should support the change in color space. else the result will not be visible.

Is this the same for the "Mastered in 4K "blu-rays that use an extended color space? I have a Sony player (that cost me $500 - probably overcharged by the installer tbh) so it probably has that option.

Nope its not. Its just ur regular 2K DI transferred to BD.

If I were to get a PK on Blu-Ray, I would prefer REM easily.

Screenshots for Indian BluRay release are cringe worthy.

I skimmed through my REM copy - its miles better than the Indian release! Mind you, REM doesn't come with English subs!
