In that video, it confirms that older GH guitars will work for PS4 & 2 AA batteries for the new RB instruments instead of 3.

I hope this news also reflects Xbox's older guitars as well.

I plan on getting the game for both consoles (Just game for Xbox) but no DLC for me from Sony cuz everything I have is on Xbox Live. I do wan't the new RB guitar though for the improvements & supposedly because auto A/V sync is better then any previous sync.

Yes. Play anything solo - drums, vocals, bass, or guitar.

The real bummer is the fact online will not ship with the game. If you want to play with friends, they must all come to your house or vice-versa. Harmonix said they might patch online in later, but a real oversight on their part.

After E3, this is where things stand - No online, no keyboard, no pro guitar, no practice mode, and the new guitars don't seem to have an overdrive button. Replaced by share button. People on scorehero, myself included, are very upset. And if you're on the Xbox One, it seems you might have to buy an adapter for old guitars to work. Nothing was said about that regarding the PS4.

I'm still getting the game. Own thousands of songs. But we are getting a Rock Band that is a shell of its former self.

I don't mind the online delay. Gives us the opportunity to go through career mode, learn the songs & the new tricks.

Most of the News is coming from Harmonix. The game & devs are Madcats this time round.

That's because Harmonix is likely a shell of their former selves.

Because their team is smaller, they had to focus their efforts on the core game and the features that mattered most to them (and us). They have been promoting a newer, more focused experience, but it's probably out of necessity. If they didn't scale it back, it never would have gotten made. But that's probably not a very good way to market a new version of the game.

I kinda feel like Madcats made a ton of money from RB 2 & 3. Probably to the point that it was a huge majority of their business. When Harmonix was getting bought, I am sure it hurt Madcat's business income by a large factor. This would explain why they had to jump in to help finance/produce RB4.

Madcats defintely has a lot more pressure this time & I think they are handling everything they can as best they can. I have to give them credit as they also tweaked the newer instruments with subtle improvements when they probably could have gotten away without investing more money into them.

People love to see the negatives with this new game & that's fine. Cristism is everywhere on how you can't do this or that or they added features that is under a microscope & ignorant people making claims that new features will only hurt the game in competitive form.

The group is small, the project is small & they are not trying to hide this fact when asked about "Will we see this down the road added?" They are upfront & honest. They say they do not know how well the game will be received by this current consoles gen so they are holding back. Good for them. Not like companies who make promises they can't keep or say anything to sell their game.

It's hard to hate these guys when all you have to do to play all your Rock Band DLC & jam on any instrument you already own is to simply buy the $59.99 game.

That's what I'm doing, Derb. Buying game only because I own the old Guitar Hero guitars and the Rock Band strat. I own thousands of old dlc songs and that's the main reason I'm getting it. Being able to play all or most of my old dlc was the best reason for a Rock Band comeback.

But I am really disappointed with no online the most. Would have been great to play with or against someone online. I'm still hoping they add this in later, but I have my doubts. Very costly. If they would start a kickstarter or whatever for it, I would donate asap.

The no online at launch is very strange to me. It's like releasing a COD, Battlefield type shooter & telling the public no online this time!

It's the most talked about aspect of this game but people seem to think it's a permanent decision made & will stay that way. I honestly doubt it is permanent but I guess it depends on how well it sells. If Harmonix/MadCats are serious about this game, the news comes as merely a delay & like other games outside this genre, updates were needed to add online multiplayer functionality to them as well.

I ordered the PS4 guitar bundle cuz I have no PS guitars & I want to try out the new one.

I'm glad they picked that song. Rock you like a Hurricane has been done before on GHIII. Wind of Change too I think but wouldn't mind a RB track of that song.

Looks easy enough but I'm not a fan of them making you use the higher fret buttons on the neck & then switching to the low frets.

Mostly because this is not possible with an Activision GH guitar.

It be a fun mode to use right off the start of the song you wanna do. In the video you can hear it sounds more like an amp in that Tom Petty song. He switches from notes (normal) to free style & when he does this, you hear the last note fade/sustain longer like an actual strum on a real guitar.
