I believe they are stand alone stories like Final Fantasy.

Nintendo has tried with Pokemon: Gale of Darkness and Coliseum. Both didn't go over well, though I did enjoy them.

the ps4 and 3ds versions are completely different builds/engines, right? so they made 3 builds with the 2D version

I'll go with the ps4 version, but I see the charm of the 3ds graphics

It would seem that way. Imagine how much extra work is involved.

I'll be getting the PS4 version unless they announce the Switch version to come out the same time as the PS4 version.

I absolutely LOVED and adored Journey of the Cursed King. So although some of the character designs look a little weird compared to that game, overall I like the look and want to see a Western release and will buy.

I'm just glad it's turn based. And it's totally heading to the west. There's no way they'd sink that much money into developing three versions with multiple art styles if they didn't plan on bringing it over here. Especially with both Heroes games and Builders releasing here.

I'm very excited to get this for the ps4. Last Dragon Quest that I played was VIII.

They didn't **** it up Dragon Quest like Final Fantasy and ditch turn based for action RPG... thank God! I'm so sick and tired of RPG's switching to action RPG. This game looks amazing.

Dragon Quest was what started me out in RPG's. I still remember when I was 8 or 9 getting the original Dragon Warrior for free, included in my Nintendo Power subscription.

Same here. The only games I play on handhelds are handheld only games. It's just not my preferred method of playing. I'll be getting it on PS4.

I will pick up the PS4 version first and then grab the 3DS one down the line. I like how they made it, and I want to support the franchise.

I doubt that I will get the switch one unless that is the only way to get a version in English.

Greatest of the RPG in the world only Japan. Maybe America.

I played old nes system DW1 and DW2. DQ7 game on PS and DQ8 game on PS2

I'll order DQ IV and V games on DS can backwards compatible to 3DS system.

Despite being an SRPG, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would count Valkyria Chronicles as a JRPG. MGSV...not so much.

Really wish we'd have gotten a full release of all past Dragon Quest games for the PS4. Doesn't necessarily all have to be great remasters. SE has put out FF 4 through 8 remasters for the DS (4-6) and 3DS (7-8) but I'd love to play the past DQ games on a full HD home console.

We still may get such a thing for Final Fantasy in 2017 if rumors of a full collection of FF 1-9 for the PS4 are true.
