It was mentioned back in January that all new UHD 4K players would be backwards compatible.

Amazon had removed it from their list for a few days but now has it back on with a release date of 2/14/16.

Yes it supports CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray 3d and Ultra HD Blu-ray. No SACD and no Dolby Vision.

Love this one! Along with my 55EF9500 LG OLED it's a nice upgrade for my small 3D collection. Definitely more likely to buy 3D rather than UHD blu-ray for now.
