Kojima is somewhat talented, but not all he is cracked to be. Silent Hills was the first production of his that actually showed a change of direction for him, in a positive light.


It also suits his engine more.. and the world needs more games like Silent Hills.

The thing is everyone seems to assume that the first project will be some grand epic that will take Kojima 4 years to make. Did it ever occur to any of you that he may actually go in another direction and make smaller titles with faster turnaround and higher profit margin?

i wonder if there is any risk in this? i guess you can redownload PT if you have it in your history on your PS4. i added it to my account on the online store but they removed it before i got my PS4, was thinking about trying to download it when i get home, any thoughts?

Said no one ever! Metal Gear Phantom Pain was one of the best games of 2015. Plus Kojima is one of the most consistent developers in the biz in terms of putting out high quality content. You've pretty much got it totally wrong. Kojima IS all he's cracked up to be!

I have to say that Kojimas MGS games are defining of the genre, he pretty much invented the stealth genre with the original Metal Gear.

He's spanned a few different genres over the years. Snatcher, Policeanauts, Botkai series on the GBA Castlevania Lords of Shadows and the ZOE games, he has already worked on a wide range of games, it's just that MGS being so big that's all people associate him with.

And contrary to popular belief he's never really shown PlayStation favouritism. A lot of his games were on PC first, and even games like MGS were on PC as well as PlayStation, and almost every game if not all has been a multi platform release bar the GBA games. This new game could be the first that is an actual PS exclusive.

2019? That's quite awhile away. Would've been nice to see a new game in 2017 from Kojima but he definitely takes his time.
