Who were your favorite 90s white trash TV family icons?

The Connors

vs.

The Bundys

As far as the shows are concerned, I'm going to have to give Roseanne the upper-hand here as it often transcended from comedy to drama effortlessly. Roseanne was a show with something to say, and I cared for the Connors emotionally in a sense that I never really felt in the cartoony world occupied by the Bundys. Married With Children is great and all, but it rarely pushed itself beyond the one-liners, sex appeal, and slapstick. Kelly Bundy is my bae though.

What say you?

Loved the sarcastic humor from both but prefer Married With Children overall, mainly for the quite raunchy season 5. First few seasons of Roseanne were great, but it got too mature for its own good as the kids reached adulthood.

Always preferred Roseanne, especially the first few seasons. Married... with Children was funny but was always so over the top, whereas Roseanne was a lot more relatable, with the Conners dealing with some of the same stuff average families did in real life.

Roseanne was the more impactful show with more historical significance...

But Married With Children was sooooooo so funny. Probably a top 5 show for me.

Married With Children hands frigging down!

Roseanne was good but it didn't make me laugh painfully hard like Married With Children (which is one of the best shows ever). MWC just gets better with age.

Married with Children was great when I was 12 years old, but I find it terribly unfunny now.

Roseanne has aged very well, and it is an all-time Top 5 show for me.

MWC is near the top of my all time favorite shows. I don't mind Roseanne but not even sure it would make my top 50 shows.
