Quote:
Universal has officially booked June 11, 2021 as the opening day of Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World 3.

Currently, Jurassic World 3 has that date all to its own. The only other title in proximity is an untitled Disney/Pixar movie opening on June 18 of that year.
Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow return to executive produce, along with producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley.

Jurassic World 3 will be written by franchise newcomer Emily Carmichael along with Trevorrow. Carmichael was hired by Amblin in 2016 to write and direct the family action-adventure Powerhouse. She co-wrote the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising out on March 23, and most recently rewrote The Black Hole for Disney and director Joseph Kosinski. The writers will work off a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together wrote Jurassic World and this summer’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opening on June 22.

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” said Trevorrow in a statement. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

There are no cast confirmations at this time for the threequel.

I'm perfectly happy with a three year cycle for any sequels, so this is fine with me.

Great News! It still blows my mind how few dinosaur movies there are in Hollywood.

I kind of hope it is for the sake of it, even though I kind of doubt it. I hope JW2 is kick-ass, even if I don't love the first one.

These will continue to be mediocre and stupidly flawed movies with Trevorrow writing. Hoping the new writer will stop him from writing nonsense.

Really not a fan of JW.

I hope JW2 is good.

Also hope MoviePass is still affordable and in business by the time it comes out too!

So far you have a sample size of one movie in which you used to build that opinion, cool story.

Two. The Book of Henry. Even more badly written than JW.

You said these, as in Jurassic World movies.

So what? All I was saying is we will continue to have poorly written movies if a bad writer is writing them. It's irrelevant in critiquing that point by saying there is only one film in the current series thus far, when the writer has made multiple bad movies. Even without The Book of Henry, one film is still plenty sample size when there are multiple aspects to JW that were very poorly written.

Yeah, Jurassic World is pretty poorly written. But it's not like The Lost World, or JP3 have particularly great scripts either. There's only one GREAT film in the franchise. As much crap as I've given JW in the past, it's not offensive by any stretch, and it could have been much worse.

My prediction:

This film will really focus in on the tragic lifestyles that the dinosaurs experience due to all of them being bred to be female with no members of the opposite sex to interact with, and also having to endure being held captive for entertainment purposes... with a really deep focus on what that does to all of them psychologically.

While there will still be plenty of action, it will be the most intellectually thought provoking film in the entire Jurassic Park/World franchise to date, and maybe even get a surprise nomination for an Academy Award for Best Picture as a result.

I made a poster mock-up last night in Photoshop for it:

[Show spoiler]

I do wonder, though. Will JP6 be the end of it all ... Or will this be the start of another title (Jurassic War) getting a trilogy? I somehow have the feeling we'll be getting these movies till they stop making money. And that can be a long time.

I still see Chris Pratt as Andry Dyrer trying to act serious in this, and I just can't take anything he says seriously. He's well fit for the role of Star Lord tho. [emoji14]
