Blu-ray player with 3D and 2D HDTV - Blu-ray Forum

My player has that it will support a 3D disc but my HDTV is regular. If I put in a 3D movie to I need anything else like the glasses or do I need a 3D TV also?

You need a 3D tv, you can put a 3D disc in your player, but you'll only get a 2D image on your tv. I'm not aware of any 3D discs not being released with the 2D version as well, so use that one

Okay, thanks. I didn't know if the player did some kind of 3D conversion like it does with 4K up scaling.
